webfact
Picture: Daily News An horrific road accident in the early hours of Thursday morning on Mitraphap (Friendship) highway left four entirely innocent people dead. Sung Noen police and rescue services attended the scene in the Ban Kutjik area where they found a four door blue Ford pick-up with its roof shorn off. Inside were four victims with massive head trauma. These were the driver Damrong, 47, and Kotchakorn, 23, a front seat passenger. Both were from Chainat province. In the back were two ladies Suphanuch, 48, and Pornthipha, 24, from Khon Kaen. Nearby was a Chevrolet car that had come to rest on its roof after multiple flips. The driver Chanachai, 33, was unconscious and taken to Sung Noen hospital, reported Daily News. The car had been heading to the Mitraphap Highway when it appears the driver fell asleep at the wheel at a bend, flew over a divider and onto the roof of the approaching pick-up that was in the left lane of the highway. The Chevrolet had been driven from Ban Kutjik and was bound for Nakhon Ratchasima, the Ford came from Saraburi and was bound for Khon Kaen. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-04 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Crazy driving was too blame, nothing else, notice it says..... Appears driver fell asleep, not he was driving far too fast and lost control. R.I.P. to the poor innocent people, who lost their lives due to a bloody crazy driver.

We went to the Kings Project way up North and I was told by the family that our minivan driver couldn't negotiate the mountain climbs and so we had to transfer to specialist local pick-ups that were driven by experienced mountain drivers. We stopped for some oranges half way up and the ex went to change the nippers nappy on the back of the pick-up. Luckily I was there as the experienced mountain driver hadn't applied the handbrake and the pick-up started rolling down the mountain with my baby on board. Thais, vehicles and common sense are just 3 things that should never be used in the same sentence. 5

Popular Post Bangkok Barry
It makes no difference how carefully you drive in Thailand. Your days could be numbered through no fault of your own and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Just be aware that, every single time you leave the house, you might not return. There cannot be a single family in Thailand, not one, who doesn't know of a member killed or injured on the roads. Just the way it is, and you can do no more than hope its not your turn next. 3
Popular Post Joinaman
And people on here run scared from the Covid, when things like this happen so often on the roads Wonder when they will bring out an untested vaccine for these idiot drivers ? 2

It pisses me off that Thai officials make up excuses for those responsible for vehicular homicide. It's probably less paperwork then filing serious charges.
Freigeist365
RIP to the four victims and condolences to family and friends... May Mr. Chanachai receive ample punishment when he's due to face our creator after living a long life, hopefully eternally bound to a wheelchair and the need to wear diapers 24/7... richard_smith237
No one has questioned the quality of barriers / central divisions between roads yet. Is that not also a facet or road safety on these highways ???? How did the car of the oncoming ‘microsleeper’ cross the median ??? Maybe Thailand needs to apply a little ‘nanny state’ mentality after all... Edited June 4, 2021 by richard_smith237

In Thai, that means the drivers who had already driven off the side of a mountain road a couple times and lived. Once they get used to it, they can get to the bottom a lot faster and it saves wear & tear on the brakes. Never mind wear on the shock absorbers, they were already shot.
