Clearly the man who was described as a habitual drunkard in a Facebook post was very much still in the land of the living. There had been a terrible accident late at night near the village and a man's head was mangled by a ten wheel truck. The corpse was unrecognisable but Phairat, 61, Laan's dad was sure that the tattoo on the arm of the victim meant this was his son who had been missing for three days. The police released the corpse and everything was arranged for the funeral. After Laan returned, the coffin was taken back to the hospital where it was discovered that the real deceased was 35 year old Wuthichai who also had failed to return home that night. Pathum, his elder sister told Sanook, that early fears it was him were dismissed after Laan's family claimed the dead body as their own. She later identified it as her brother from marks on his hand and feet.
