webfact
Picture: Sanook A captured convict turned on the waterworks with police in Chainat in central Thailand after he was found two days after fleeing Khao Phlong temporary prison. Drug related convicts Watcharapong, 48, and Anan, 52, both from Lopburi had escaped on Saturday afternoon while doing work ahead of their release, reported Sanook. Anan was caught in Seua Hoke sub-district ten kilometers from the prison on Saturday evening. Yesterday Chainat provincial police caught up with Watcharapong who blamed Anan who needed to get back to his wife to sort some things out. He said he had his own family problems. He claimed to be worried about his mother who lives in Germany who didn't answer his letters. He feared she was dead. Police managed to contact her and she was very much alive. Watcharapong said they had sneaked off behind the prison by a lake and split up - Anan had headed to his home. Watcharapong slept in a drain on the first day, in some foothills on the second then just started wandering about before he was taken into custody. Anan was in for 4 years 8 months and 12 days for possessing and dealing in Ya Ba. Watcharapong got 1 year 9 months for having crystal meth. Both were near their release dates but will now have time added on to their sentences. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-08 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates

Better yet, just legalize it altogether. 2
Dogmatix
Wasn't drug dealing ruled an insignificant offence by the Constitutional Court so that it is fine for drug convicts to become ministers, at least if convicted in countries considered Mickey Mouse jurisdictions with questionable legal systems. e.g. Australia.

Ah, but this only applies if the miscreant was convicted overseas. And that conviction is only judged as not being a disqualification to be a Government minister. If you or I had an overseas conviction this would rule us ineligible to reside here, but we could become government ministers.
