Popular Post webfact
Picture: RYT9 A government poll has revealed that 75.2% of the Thai population want to get vaccinated. But more than half are not happy with the quality of vaccines. And less than one percent want a Sinovac jab. Government deputy spokeswoman Traisuree was giving the details after a cabinet meeting as reported by RYT9 yesterday. Out of those who are prepared to get jabbed 47.7% said they were ready and 27.5% were not. Only 5.5% said they had already been injected. The rollout started in February but has only just picked up pace, notes Thaivisa. Some 19.3% don't want a jab. Out of the these 16.4% cited concern over side effects and 4.9% simple said it wouldn't work. Others mentioned the possibility of debilitating conditions like being handicapped (4.6%) while 3.2% said they didn't have enough information. 54.6% said they were prepared to get vaccine supplied by the government but 12.5% wanted Pfizer, 3% Moderna, and 2.5% Johnson and Johnson. Only 0.9 wanted Sinovac. Preparedness to be vaccinated was highest the following provinces; Phuket 80.2%, Trang 80%, Ranong 78.8%, Buriram 73.3%, Chonburi 71.8% and Nonthaburi 71.2%. The stats showed that the age group of 18-29 were more prepared than older people to be vaxed. But when it came to quality of vaccine only 45.3% were happy. 54.7% were not with nearly half of those citing side effects and 7% saying they wanted choice and 5.7% mentioning they had received conflicting information. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-09 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post spidermike007
The only time a bottom of the barrel approach works, is when you are selling one dollar items at a swap meet. It is the last approach in the world a civilized nation, with 20% of it's economy dependent on tourism, should employ. However, when you have a bottom of the barrel PM, and astoundingly inferior and sub standard ministers, who consider money to be their priority over everything else, this is the kind of result you get. A very sad state of affairs for the nation, and one that does not bode well for the future well being of it. The dinosaurs must go, if Thailand has any hope of ever moving forward. The tiger of SE Asia has been reduced to an infant cat. 4

Such a shame the government can't give the public what they want, but as usual dictate what they will get. This will come back one day to haunt the government. I've never heard so many Thais openly criticise the government as they do now.

WhiteBuffaloATM
certain levels of high superstition and poor education will produce such strange statistics......... ”quality” of vaccine ? ridiculous question for any non- scientist......( 99..9 %) only availability, effectiveness & risk matters......any rational person would take Sinovac (if no other option)..... survey conclusion is that over 99% locals are not rational.......? 1

Six months ago they were all planting 6 ganja plants because they "knew" a new law had been passed irregardless of what the TV was saying. The cops had to work with the poo yai ban making announcements over the village speakers denying ganjas legalisation and threatening to arrest people caught gowing it. 1

richard_smith237
Most Thai’s... Most people in fact have gone though life in ignorant bliss happy to take whichever drug and whichever vaccine is prescribed to them. Has anyone ever suggested to their doctor that they don’t want xx drug, they want xx drug instead. Or they don’t want xx brand of vaccine, they want xx brand of vaccine instead, either for themselves or their child ???? Suddenly there is mass vaccine hysteria and the layman has become hysterically paranoid about vaccines they no nothing about and are insufficiently educated to understand. Looking at the efficacy figures of the vaccines if given a preference many may chose Moderna or Pfizer especially when considering efficacy against variant B.1.617.2 But... beggars can’t be choosers and any vaccine is better than none. All vaccines have proven effective against death from Covid-19. Thus, if given the luxury of choice later on, in 6 months or even a year, fine, chose Moderna or Pfizer or whichever newer better vaccine has been released then... But for now the bottom line is: Sinovac is better than no Sinovac for many who become exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
