webfact
File photo credit: Freepik The executive head of provincial administration in the province of Chonburi (that includes Pattaya) said that all schools there will remain closed until further notice. Withaya Khunplome said on his personal Facebook page that onsite learning will not start as planned on June 14th, next Monday. Due to the ongoing pandemic it will be delayed and no notice was given when parents can finally expect their children to be back in school, reported Daily News. All face to face educational activities of any kind are not to take place anywhere in the province. For now only what are described as various online methods of teaching will continue - on air, on demand, on hand, online. Forget "onsite" until Thai Stop Covid Plus (TSP+) conditions are met. The start of term has already been delayed about a month and now looks set to continue indefinitely in Chonburi. There will be fears - particularly from overtasked parents - that Chonburi's move will be replicated in other areas of the country particularly where there have been many cases of Covid-19. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-10 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
Excel
Seems a wise decision considering the unchecked spread of the virus. Bangkok should follow suit I would have thought considering the situation there is not improving either. 1 2 3

cclub75
As usual, virtue signaling... Other governors will feel compelled to copycat such a decision. The problem is : for such an important public policy (education), the central government is hidding, and let the dirty job to local authorities ! To ban alcohol in restaurants, the governement didn't ask what the governors were thinking... But for the education of our children, how can local authorities can decide ? What are their tools, their competences to assess the situation ? It should be a national policy, taken by ministers.

Popular Post tingtong
Given that most country not vaccinate under age 18, a few give jabs maybe 15-18, And generally not a place on earth giving jabs under 12... What is the reason to not open kindergarten and at least elementary schools? How is this benefit the kids? As long as the kids not visit the prison, the wet market, a factory migrant workers camp or a hiso nightclub, they are 99.9% unlikely to be in danger of covid-19. 3
skorp13
Once again paying for something we don't receive as i think any refunds will be minimal at best and not pro-rated. Kids are the least likely to contract or spread the virus yet they continue to suffer as does the lacking education system overall. All the mitigatory efforts when the schools were open were ok as long as there was no virus but now that there is.....it isn't. Shows yet another dog and pony act when those supposedly in charge don't have the foggiest idea what in the world they are doing

Say mum or dad works in a factory, comes home and gives it to their kid. The kid goes to school and gives it to other kids. They go home and give it to their parents. Those parents go to work and give it to their colleagues, then the cycle starts again. Sadly, in the cycle, are bound to be grandparents, who may succumb to the disease and die. Not really based on everything that was being said by the government and the roll out of the vaccine June 7th, I figure it would come down to this because the government is hoping that their vaccine roll out can and will reduce the infection number add 14-18 days after the first shot for the immune system to start protecting tack on some extra days when the second shot is given the time line is about right just like the sandbox in Phuket?????
James105
How many kids in this country seriously have the equipment to effectively learn online? I'm guessing not that many and ruining kids chances (slim as they are here anyway) is secondary to the all encompassing covid. There are going to be some seriously <deleted> off youngsters in the world when they discover just how much they have lost from government overreactions to this virus.

Say 30 kids in a class, 60 parents for those kids, each parent with a workplace with possibly hundreds, such as a factory. Why shut down the factories with hundreds, when you can shut down the 30 kid class, which acts as a central point of spread for all the staff from different factories? Kids most certainly can transmit the virus, and since they all would come together at the schools and kindergartens, would then take it out into the city. Any kid may hug it's mother straight back from the market.

What about man goes to market gets covid, then goes to work at a factory and infects hundred? Do we close all the markets down too? What we have is a forum dominated by old retirees. Old retirees are in the vulnerable groups due to age, generally dont have kids at school age, generally financially secure due to some kind of pension. Thats why they all crying to close everything down as nothing affects them. They should just shelter and allow the rest of us to get used to living with covid, its not going away.
