BANGKOK (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand has featured well-known players from Leicester City FC to promote tourism in Phuket, in its new ad campaign “Amazing Moments in Phuket.”

The advertisement, which will be aired on international TV stations including the BBC and Euro News, will feature James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and Kelechi Iheanacho, who will be relating their impressive memories of Phuket through postcards, highlighting the smiles of Thai people and picturesque attractions, along with water sports such as diving, surfing, and parachuting, as well as triathlete events.

The ad will also present natural tourism attractions, Phuket Old Town, and the diverse cuisine of this Andaman Sea island.

The 30-second ad will also be featured by a leading football media company Dugout Worldwide, as well as on communications channels owned by Thailand’s duty-free retailer King Power.

The TAT expects the ad campaign will help regain travelers’ confidence in visiting Phuket, with the Phuket Sandbox scheme allowing quarantine-free travel for vaccinated travelers within the island province, as well as emphasizing the Amazing Thailand branding used to promote tourism throughout the country.

This is on the coattails of the Srivaddhanaprabha clan that owns the notorious King Power monopoly of Thai Duty Free outlets (the ones where it's almost always cheaper to buy downtown than at their airport shops). Quite how they accumulated their wealth, I couldn't possibly say.

Let's be honest here, the owners of the football club own King Power. There is the link.

The quicker Thailand is open, the quicker they can get open and charging the ridiculous prices to consumers that they get away with at Suvarnabhumi.

Of course, Somebody has to pay for the football teams enormous salaries, trips to Thailand, and cars for every member of the team.

The players don't care who!

The Srivaddhanaprabha clan and family members hold god like status with the fan-base in Leicester. They don't care where the money comes from.

No criticism just facts, all the big teams do it.

Correct so more disinformation from these numpties. And it is shameful for Leicester City players to endorse this Thai sham

Sorry but I don't think that's correct.

The BBC domestic television channels do not broadcast advertisements but as far as I know, the BBC's international television channels do - in fact that are funded partly  by advertisements.
