Popular Post ThailandRyan
And the new numbers are very disturbing, just a tad under 4k for the general population, add in the 35 deaths, and it is looking like the increase as many of us expected due to the new Delta variant is kicking in. Be safe folks. Waiting to see the hospitalized numbers, those in serious condition and how many are on ventilators. This government needs to be removed and someone needs to kick the Czar in his nutt sack as well as Anutin. Add in the fact that they are now opening everything up in Phuket to include bars and the selling of Alcohol, which they have critized for spreading the virus, and well......ugh 18 1
Popular Post dinsdale
Almost 4,000. To those who think the numbers hasven't gone through the roof it seems you may have to reconsider your view. This will bump thailand up to 76 on the Covid chart. Again I think there should be a breakdown of what strains and % of infections. Edited June 22, 2021 by dinsdale

Popular Post Danderman123
This may be an artifact. There is sometimes a spike for Tuesday’s numbers due to pileups of lab tests over the weekend. There is a good chance that tomorrow’s numbers will be significantly lower. 1 2
wasabi
Too bad Thailand isn't on the list. At least by staying out of Covax no one's feelings were hurt which matters more than the economy or any number of other deleterious effects of a runaway pandemic. The US is not sending any AZ vax due to "technical errors" maybe US is saving a bit of face too. Popular Post Bkk Brian
Its here and now completely out of control, any hopes of salvaging the tourism sector this year for international arrivals is dead in the water. Thailand the hub of variants. Alpha, Beta, Delta and no doubt some original thrown in the mix. What a mess. Rolling 7 day average (up to 20th June only) which includes prison cases and bar chart of community cases. https://ourworldindata.org/coronavirus/country/thailand 1

Artifact....hmmm lets think about that one....Nope, the numbers spiked even on Saturday and Sunday. Try again, this is definitely the Delta Variant rearing it's head and cases expanding therein. Before you say its just from new found clusters, a cluster is still comprised of Covid that got to that location somewhow. Now back to the real story at hand....almost 4k today and the cases keep on arriving.

This is far more worrying: https://www.thaienquirer.com/28808/beta-variant-cluster-spreads-to-12-provinces/ From that article: ------------------------------------------------------------ The Poryani cluster, as it has been called by local news, has led to 111 cases in Narathiwat followed by 102 cases in Yala, 46 cases in Satun, 46 cases in Pattani, 36 cases in Songkhla, 18 in Krabi, 13 in Phatthalung and 10 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, nine in Surat Thani, five in Phang Nga and three each in Trang and Phuket, the CCSA said. In terms of vaccine effectiveness against the Beta variant, Dr Supakit said the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is becoming Thailand’s main vaccine, has only a 10.4-per-cent chance to protect against infection from the Beta variant and it cannot prevent severe symptoms. A study also showed that the level of protection offered by the Sinovac vaccine, another main vaccine in the country, dropped by 70 per cent against the Beta variant, he added. ------------------------------------------------------------ Admittedly only one case detected in Phuket, but that's detected, right? How many are silently spreading it and not detected? It will be the end of tourism for Thailand if tourists come, fully vaccinated, only to be infected by variant for which their vaccines are near completely useless.
