Pain in the ball of my foot

I've had pain in the ball of my foot for over a month now. I have arched feet and thought the problem might have been caused by running in rubber 'croc' shoes.

I went to a private hospital and saw a so called specialist. He sent me off for an xray. He looked at it and said it was hard to tell..... He pointed to 2 lines (shadows) but said its better that I get an MRI. I didnt have time. I then said if I hypothetically had an MRI and it showed a problem what would be the treatment. He said he would give me a special shoe. I asked for that right away and have been wearing it on and off.

When I take it off the pain comes back. Its a week on now.

Im claustrophobic and cant tolerate being inside an MRI machine.

Would it just be a torn ligament? Anyone else had this issue?

thanks

It sounds like it might be this

Years ago I had a problem like what you have. What I did was get some shoe inserts for my shoes and cut a hole out where the pain was. I even dug out a hole in my flip-flops. The pain went away in a week or two.

It could be plantar fasciitis and this hangs around for a long time. Avoid wearing hard shoes. You can get gell packs to put into your shoes, similar to the gel in bras in Thailand ????

It is inflammation of the Achilles tendon that attaches to the ball of the foot.

Plantar fascitis is on the heel not ball of the foot

Metatarsalgia or Morton's neuroma are more likley. Probably the klatter but OP should review that kink and see if the lcoation of the pain and type of pain fits

Sounds like OP is a runner, runners are at risk for metatarsalgia
