Travelers who have been vaccinated with Sinovac should not be allowed to participate in Thailand’s ‘Phuket Sandbox’ program, a senior doctor told Thai Enquirer on Tuesday.

Well !, If this is taken up there will be no Thai Visitors, as Sinovac is the main weapon of choice in LOS.

Good spot, ezzra.

Apart from Chinese tourists (who aren't coming this year), there will be very few Sinovac-vaccinated tourists, making this story a little irrelevant.

Except that Thais will continue to infect Thais!

what's wrong here, contradictory information and nobody checked it .... top says if had Sinovac can not enter and below says if had Sinovac can enter, which one is it, the shoes or the feet

No, the government line (at the bottom) is that Sinovac is ok, the top bit was just the doctor's opinion that they should not be allowed in. Just his opinion, not official or contradictory information.

I wonder if you had 3 shots of the Chinese vaccines, you would have a fairly high protection from the COVID

virus?  Is China losing lots of people every day to the virus, but just does not talk about it?  Has any brave business

people travelled to China and seen how their population is really doing?  I also wonder how Russian areas are doing, and how

many of their people have been vaccinated so far?  I agree with this senior doctor that people should be cautious, and if

possible be able to get either the AZ vaccine or one of the other 3 effective vaccines. Pfizer, Moderna or J & J.

Both, shoes and feet. Top is the doctors opinion, below how it stands at the moment. Read more carefully before commenting.

If you want to prevent the likelihood of death from Covid having multiple doses of Sinovac is certainly better than nothing. But if you want to avoid hospitalizations and the economic burden of having people getting sick (but not dying) there are better choices.

sounds like 140,000 Chileans are about to have their Phuket holiday hopes dashed !

That's a rather exact figure - is it the TAT estimate for how many Chileans will come to Phuket in July? ????

Finally some sense everyone knows sinovac is s*** the Chinese trolls can't change the efficacy of the vaccine.

You seem unaware certain distinctions. That doctor is quite right in saying that Sinovac is not suitable for the Phuket sandbox. That's because it's not effective enough in stopping transmission. But it is still very effective in stopping development of severe illness and death. So while it makes sense not to count on it to stop transmission, it does make sense for individuals to protect themselves from serious consequences. Of course, if you know of a source of supply existing in Thailand for more effective vaccines, please share this information with the rest of us.

Freely? Just turn up with no restrictions imposed?

should be rephrased: "... vaccinated tourists will be allowed to enter Phuket expensively with numerous local Covid tests for THB 2800 to 3500 each and closely tracked &  traced by the police officers of the Phuket Sandbox operation center for their own protection. Based on being vaccinated abroad, they will have numerous chances to win the virus from the not fully vaccinated local population and then test positive without symptoms in one of multiple draws. Your chances for this very positive outcome for us and the associated free* 14 day hospital stay for you will vary by your chosen vaccine." Disclaimer: *free depends on whether your insurance provider will cover the potentially inflated cost for the hospital stay.
