Siriraj hospital closes OPD’s examination unit until end of June

Siriraj hospital has announced the closure of its examination unit, on the ground floor of the out-patient building, until the end of June. The move is an attempt to reduce congestion and prevent the spread of COVID-19, after many people showing up for examinations are found to be infected.

 

Patients who need emergency treatment or who are very sick can, however, still check in at the ER department to see doctors.

 

Patients who are in a stable condition, but would like to see a doctor, are advised to contact doctors via the telemedicine system and receive their medicines via the postal service. Alternatively, they can see doctors at hospitals near their homes, said the hospital’s announcement.

so anyone turning up thinking they have CV19 are politely being told to "go away" 

 

This also shows that as mentioned on here many times - Thailands detection of CV19 relies on people getting sick and going to a hospital for a test which is now being refused - what are they supposed to do ? - just go home and spread it

 

Expect detections to go down over the coming days as testing is reduced further

Many hospitals stopped testing as they have no beds for positive cases. Obviously numbers will go down very quickly. If then they just somehow shift the deaths to some other causes (like underlying conditions) then Thailand could be COVID free in a week!

The reported daily numbers are creeping up.. that won't do.

Thailand wants to open up so the numbers have to be reduced.

Prayuts master plan is working, 120 days Thailand will be free of infections, no Covid related deaths and the doors open wide.

In a national pandemic it's up to the PM to provide the tools and materials to prevent mass infections.

Yes the people spread it, but only in the absence of adequate treatment.

As a direct side effect, instead of exposing people to SARS-coV-2 they are ignoring potentially lethal diseases that will instead kill people in the long-run out of pure neglect.

Quite right, but PMs inaction does in spades! Inaction on PPE inaction on lockdowns inaction on vaccine supply inaction on distribution inaction on working with the Private Sector inaction on reducing infections and deaths. UK went through all that last year and now has 70pc fully vaccinated

of course the numbers detected will go down if you stop people from going to hospital.

No, the people spread it by selfishness, ignorance and flagrance of the rules.

If you go to Siriraj OPD on any day there are lots of sick people waiting on gurneys. Denying these people treatment is criminal. It shows the lack of compassion by hospital management and politicans.
