Popular Post Jonathan Fairfield
Thailand has included itself in a list of countries deemed to be 'high risk' due to the COVID-19 situation. Twice a month, Thailand's Department of Disease Control releases a lists of countries classified as low, medium and high risk. In the most recent list, Thailand has included itself as 'high risk' country, along with the likes of India, Brazil and the Philippines. The news come as the United States recently issues a travel advisory for Thailand, asking its citizens to "reconsider travel to Thailand due to COVID-19". "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for Thailand due to COVID-19, indicating a high level of COVID-19 in the country. "Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine", the advisory read. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-27 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 1

Popular Post 4MyEgo
You don't say....surely someone will be along tomorrow to say there was a misunderstanding in the translation as it has always been a low risk country because the Prime Minister has it 110% under control. Popular Post wensiensheng
It’s not just the recent list that they included themselves. It’s always been like that. they must have cut and paste the list from somewhere. Too lazy to make their own I expect. 1

dinsdale
Thailand still amber on UK list. 10 day quarantine on return. Rules must be followed even if fully vaccinated. Edited June 27, 2021 by dinsdale
Popular Post Guderian
If you believe the headline numbers, then Thailand is much less risky than the UK (about 4,000 new cases a day compared with over 15,000). Maybe the person who compiled this list has some inside knowledge about the true Thai daily case numbers, and if so they must be higher than 15,000. Whatever, the downside is that it makes it more likely the UK will add Thailand to its red list, meaning you'll have to fork out £1,750 for a two-week stay in a quarantine hotel if you decide to go back to get vaccinated. As Thailand is currently on the UK's amber list, you only have to do 10 days self-isolation at home. If you're thinking of going back (as I am), then the window might be closing, having to pay £1,750 on top of everything else would be too much.

For everywhere but Phuket. Unfortunately they have painted themselves into a very tight corner and they will have to see it through no matter what the consequences will be. It is sad to think of how things were handled so differently just over a year ago and to where we are now, a 180 degree turn, with minor and partial lockdowns. Still waiting to hear the fallout from the BMA, after all it is Sunday and most are probably still sleeping in after partying last night in their Government houses. Fiddling while Rome is burning and the peasants are ransacking France getting ready to use the guillotine. 4

Popular Post samisaurus
1 thing people here dont mention enough and has been forgotten about is kicking out a lot of foreigners on September 26th. I was one of those that left on Sept 25th and since then I've lived in various countries for several months. Funnily enough all that money i spent in Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, etc couldve gone towards Thailand. Im now in the EU where things are quite open and life back to normal. Most places Ive been going to dont require masks. Thailand couldve had all that revenue from me and the other tourists flowing into their economy, but no..... they wanted to prove a point that tourists have their limits. I still remember all the fear monguering stories by police departments how we'll be arrested and searched after Sep 26th, along with many embassies not wanting to provide letters. What's the saying again.... Som nam naa ? 7 1
vandeventer
Talking to my brother in New York today and he said there is a big surplus of vaccines in the USA. Maybe if we asked Biden nicely we could get some. Lets move from a highest risk country to a low-risk country. 1

Popular Post Kammie
The Netherlands high risk!? More than half the country is vaccinated, people are getting voluntary Janssen vaccin, and we had 0 deaths yesterday with 150 bedridden in the ic's in the whole country. Testing free, vaccin free, hospital free. I'm guessing Trump would love Thailand; no testing = no cases! But seriously isn't this whole situation a perfect resemblance on how the Thai think about foreigners? Farangs are dirty barbarians, we don't need them. Now they are putting their money where their mouth is. Unfortunately a result of no education. My 6 year old Thai niece is scared of me because of this indoctrination and everyone just accepts this, or even agrees with her. Can you see a future for this country? My friend who has a small barbershop with no employee's; he got €4000 a month during lock down from the Dutch government, not a loan. 2 1

"Backwards" is distorted perspective. Most of the ME countries are listed red by the UK, including Qatar & UAE, which means you cannot transit to the UK without mandatory government quarantine, irrespective of what list Thailand puts them on, or how backward you think it is. There is no global agreement on vaccination recognition, just a hotch potch of schemes that are being reviewed prior to debate. The EU scheme is ready to be introduced on July 1st, the UK cannot make up their mind and the US will accept US approved vaccine or any approved by WHO Obviously you believe no chance whatsoever the US policy will become the global standard. Concerning recognition of vaccination schemes and vaccine types, Germany and Israel accept only those vaccine types in incoming travelers that are also administered to residents. The United States accepts those administered in the country as well as those approved by WHO. Seychelles accepts any vaccine approved in emitting countries of incoming travelers. There was no data on which vaccine types and vaccination schemes Bahrain, France, and the United Kingdom require for incoming travelers. https://www.rki.de/EN/Content/Institute/International/COVID_ZIG_en/Report_Issue4_Recognition_COVID-19_Vaccination_Status.pdf?__blob=publicationFile
ed strong
Rather than just listening to the governments telling us to get vaccinated as this will lead us out of lockdown, look at the figures that are already out there. UK is near the top of the list with over 60% of adult population with two jabs now and we are seeing higher and higher rate of infections Thailand has very low output of vaccines yet has much lower daily numbers than countries with much higher vaccination rates. Nobody can make sense of these figures let alone make policy that relates to this virus. There's absolutely no promotion of any treatment for this virus? The only option is vaccine! With out looking too much into what an absolute con job the pharmacutical companies and WHO are doing with the governments waiting for their next bit of 'guidance'

BKKTRAVELER
Just heard they'll make restaurants go back to take away and delivery only in the Bangkok area starting tomorrow and forbid any kind of indoor activities (theaters, fitness, sports...). Don't know if it is true but if so, it would last for a month... We're really not toward the end of the tunnel... They take things more seriously but again will keep damaging the already half dead local economy. Edited June 27, 2021 by BKKTRAVELER
