snowleopard Posted June 24, 2004 Share Posted June 24, 2004 The Great Teacher Says... นี้คือคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้าท้งหลาย=This is the Teaching which is taught by all Buddhas 1.ความไม่ทำชั่วทั้งปวง=To avoid doing all evil things 2.การทำความดีให้ถึงพร้อม=To cultivate all good 3.การำระให้บริสุทธิ์ผ่องแผ้ว=To purify one's own mind with serenity 4.เพื่อความพ้นทุกข์=To go beyond and be free from suffering (i.e.Dukkha) Great sayings of the Buddha in Thai and English 1."พึงชนะคนโกรธ ด้วยไม่โกรธ=Overcome an angry person by restraining your own anger." 2."ความโกรธเกิดจากความไม่อดทน=Anger comes as a result of intolerance and impatience." 3."ผู้ฆ่าความโกรธได้ย่อมอยู่เป็บสุข=Happy is he who has killed his own anger" 4."ผู้สงบใจได้ย่อมอยู่เป็นสุข=The one who can maintain peace of mind is happy." 5."ผู้ชี้โทษคือผู้ชี้ทรัพย์ให้=Our critic is our guide to precious treasures to be found." 6."สุขใดเสมอด้วยความสงบไม่มี=No happiness can surpass peace of mind" 7."พึงสอนผู้อื่นอย่างไร ความทำตนอย่างนั้น=Practice yourself what you preach others." 8."ความชั่วไม่ทำเสียเลยดีกว่า=Best of all is to do no evil act." 9."ความอยากย่อมผลักดันให้คนวิ่งวุ่น=Craving and desire make a person run around desperately forever." 10."ความเป็นหนี้เป็นทุกข์ในโลก=Indebtedness is just another kind of suffering in the World." 11."ผู้ชนะย่อมก่อเวร ผู้แพ้ย่อมนอนเป็นทุกข์=The winner creates enmity and desire for retribution in the loser who is suffering from the defeat." 12."ถ้าจะทำก็ควรทำให้จริง=Whatever you do,do it for real with all yor heart." 13."คนจะพ้นทุกข์ได้เพราะความเพียร=Liberation from suffering comes from perseverance." 14."ที่ลับสำหรับทำความชั่วไม่มีในโลก=There is no place to hide for evil-doers anywhere in the World." 15."คนที่ผลัดวันประกันพรุ่งมีแต่ความเสื่อม=The persons who procrastinate meet only with failure." 16."ความกตัญญูไม่มีในคนใด การคบกับคนนั้นก็ไร้ประโยชน์=Friendship with an ungrateful person is useless." 17."โทษของคนอื่นเห็นง่าย โทษของตนเห็นยาก=Mistakes of others are easy to see but how about your own mistakes?" 18."ชนะตนนั้นแหละเป็นดี=It is a virtue indeed to conquer oneself." 19."อย่ารังเกียจผู้ที่มีกรรม อย่าซ้ำเติมผู้ที่หลงผิด จงชี้ทางถูกให้แก่ผู้ที่มืดบอด=Don't feel disgust for a person's deed...Don't reproach the misguided person,but show the ignorant person the right direction.
