Mid Posted June 7, 2007 Author Share Posted June 7, 2007 Policeman cut down in gunfire in Narathiwat market June 7, 2007 : Last updated 11:28 am (Thai local time) Narathiwat - A policeman was killed and robbed of M-16 assault rifle by eight Muslim insurgents at a fresh market in this southern border province Thursday morning.Police Senior Sgt-Maj Suriya Malaimarn, 51, was shot and killed by eight insurgents while he was driving his pick-up truck slowly through the market road in Tambon Rusoh of Rusoh district at 7:20 am. Suriya was transporting foods for his wife to sell at the market in front of a railway station when the eight insurgents surrounded his truck and opened fire at him with pistols.
