crabstix
I am renting a house in Chiang Rai where TOT is the only option (no TT&T). I want to hook up to the internet (I don't need to use the landline for phone calls as I have a mobile phone). Where is the the main TOT office? Does anyone know what documents I need to have internet connected? I have managed to get the house registration number ('mae laek tabien baan') from the owner who has given me verbal consent to have internet set up in the house. Also does anyone know approx how much I will be paying per month for internet? I am interested in a 512/256kbps package. Thanks
svenivan
The office I go to paying my bills is on the road to Thoeng. If you go Superhighway south, passing BigC, then at the trafficlight you take left towards Thoeng. After 1 km and you passed the Kubota shop, on the left side is a big house. That is TOT. Good Luck! (you will need it!)

Just go to the office and get the guys down there, they will tell you what you need. Cost me 3200B for a dish, box etc and 1500B month plus tax. That's 256/512 and it runs like clockwork. tayto
Depending on your location and proximity to a telephone connection, it may be considerably cheaper to connect by phone line. I have maxnet 256/128 from TT and T, priced at 630 baht a month. I got a free modem when I subscribed but I don't know if that offer is still available. Service is pretty good at the moment but it can vary.
