Yala schools reopen

June 18, 2007 : Last updated 11:27 am (Thai local time)

Yala - Nearly all schools in Yala reopen Monday after teachers stopped teaching last week after their colleagues fell easy preys of Muslim insurgents.

All 117 schools in Yala's Education Zone 1 reopened and 75 schools in Yala's Education Zone 2 resumed teachings, except two schools remained closed as students did not turn up.

Students of 13 schools had to study in tents or on the grounds because their school buildings have been burnt down by insurgents.
