Mid Posted June 17, 2007 Share Posted June 17, 2007 Narathiwat schools to reopen on Monday Despite the continuing conflagration of violence in Thailand's South, classes in most schools in the troubled southern province of Narathiwat will resume Monday after schools were closed for almost a week following a continuing toll of teacher deaths, a high ranking Ministry of Education official said. Mid Posted June 18, 2007 Author Share Posted June 18, 2007 Yala schools reopen June 18, 2007 : Last updated 11:27 am (Thai local time) Yala - Nearly all schools in Yala reopen Monday after teachers stopped teaching last week after their colleagues fell easy preys of Muslim insurgents.All 117 schools in Yala's Education Zone 1 reopened and 75 schools in Yala's Education Zone 2 resumed teachings, except two schools remained closed as students did not turn up. Students of 13 schools had to study in tents or on the grounds because their school buildings have been burnt down by insurgents.
