Jai Dee
Officers of Rubber Replanting Aid Fund request to be relocated from conflict area Officials from the Office of the Rubber Replanting Aid Fund request to be relocated from the Padang Besar (ปะดังเบซาร์) and Sadao (สะเดา) centers in the Deep South due to high risks from insurgency and the inefficiency of the centers. Deputy Director of the office of the Rubber Replanting Aid Fund, Sayan Kiewkhong (สายัณห์ เกี่ยวข้อง), reveals that the officers of the two centers also call for a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) system in order to conduct a land survey. They claim that land surveys by the GPRS system are more accurate, faster, and safer than those by human. In addition, the officers say the operation of the Padang Besar and Sadao centers during the past two years is not worth it and lacks progress. However, Mr Sanya says the overall operation of the centers is still considered as satisfactory and it is normal that some of the officers would like to be relocated from the insurgency-ridden area. He affirms the office will take the employees’ requests into consideration.
