So probably closer to 4000 in the third division as my mate Sunderland keeps pointing out. So what does it say about our club lets see, we are obviously not glory chasers as we are in the lower leagues where there is little or no coverage from the media , so what is it ? It is the fact that we have a history, whether it be sucess or failure we are still talked about. Still hated but that's just jealously from wanabee clubs that will never enjoy the limelight and success that we have and still continue to enjoy. There will be 30,000 plus at Elland Road this weekend. Lets see where your sorry arsed team Sunderland attendances will be at the end of the season. We all know Leeds support & the passion for the club, after all we know for definate they aren't glory hunters as Leeds have won bugger all for years (when was the last Trophy) Like us, we're struggling in a division that am desperate to get out of but went down for footballing reasons (we were crap), fortunately we didn't spend multiple millions we didn't have then do a runner when we couldn't pay it back. Boston United went down the same road but were relegated once more for pulling the same stunt as Leeds. ThaiPauly Posted October 5, 2007 Share Posted October 5, 2007 I have to say that I have been very impressed with Leeds start to the season...must have been very hrd to motivate the players to achieve what they have achieved...plus I reckon the support they get is probably worth an extra goal in every game. I was watching teletext on Saturday and keeping an eye on their score, I was sorry to see them conceed in the last minute, still the run had to end sooner or later, but at least you are still unbeaten. The irony is however , that you could get the greatest number of points in a season and still not get promoted I bet Notts Forest fans are dead jelous of what Leeds have achieved so far this season, they should have done what you are doing now when they went down to league one...how many years ago?, they have failed to make any impact and are now just a top half team in that league, wheras I can't see that happening at Leeds. If you don't make it this year with such a ountain to climb then you will certainly win the league in style next year Keep going ....and keep your heads up and be proud of what your team is achieving ON the pitch, its not your fault, its the suited <deleted> that put you where you are now. We all know that Leeds is a big club with a passionate following, just like Sunderland who also have a great deal of HISTORY. The suited ######s didn't put you in the 3rd division, that was your boardroom, subsequent managers and players. However, the 15 point deduction may have been unjust, there is little that can be done about it now, other than doing what you are doing. I.e. winnning games. Good Luck TP At least have the decency to get the name right. Nottingham Forest & Notts County. No, I can say from the feed back I get from back home jealousy doesn't come into it. This the 3rd season btw we have been in the 3rd division. If we all knew then that you can run away from your debts & start a fresh we wouldn't have sold Jenas , Dawson , Reid , John to balance the books. It's taken time for us to pay back our debts & are just beginning to emerge from the most difficult period of our history. I do not have any gripe about Leeds fans/supporters just the way things have been handled, I know only too well the tremendous support Leeds enjoy & will continue to do so. I also know only too well about jealousy from our golden era winning the league at the first time of asking winning the European Cup (twice) when it was a "champions" cup also our record of winning the league cup 4 times & the longest game unbeaten run that Arsenal managed to overturn a couple of seasons back , but hey I don't live in the past only look forward to a successful return to the championship this season, hopefully. God Bless 23 sunderland will never be as big as leeds,they will never win the top league in the foreseeable future,or get to a european cup final.no billionaire will take over a poor city. also last time sunderland in premier league,attendance down in 20,000s when they started to struggle(pretty quick) boos galore,not getting behind the club when they need it. i was at elland road today,we are so united as a club atm as we feel everyone is against us,even cack teams like huddersfield revel in our 15point pen.they will feel the force of our team and fans on dec 10th sunderland is also a sh*t hole of a city,poor relations to newcastle,where as leeds is the fastest growing city in england. The win lifts United into the top half of the League One table for the first time, their 15-pount penalty at the start of the season holding them back from a huge lead. yorkshire post. its certainly looking good at elland road at the moment , but the longstanding curse that has hovered over elland road for so long and has prevented them from attaining the recognition and success they deserves may still deny leeds. that is why i have learnt to hold back on predictions. so close , so many times , only to be denied in the final days of the season.
