What Is The Best Itinerary To Go From Phayao To Udon Thani?

I intend to driver from Phayao to Udon next week.

I would like to get some advice about the way to go and also an idea about the time i would need.

The way I've generally done it is:

Phayao

Ngao

Phrae

Denchai

Uttaradit

Thong Saen Khan (there is an intersection with traffic lights on H'way 11 where you turn left. I think turning right takes you to Tron)

Chat Trakarn

Nakhon Thai

Dan Sai

Phu Rua

(You have achoice here whether you proceed in to Loei. There is a turn off after Phu Rua which can take direct to Wang Saphung but I can't remember how it is signposted. It is a narrow road but with very little traffic)

Nong Bua Lamphu

Udon

I have done Lampang-Udon in less than 6 hours but that has been with a very heavy right foot.
