1,000 trees planted and 500,000 marine animals released in Satun

19 agencies under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives in Satun (สตูล) province together with more than 300 students planted 1,000 trees and released 500,000 marine animals into the sea.

The Deputy Governor of Satun, Mr. Chusak Maneechayangkul (ชูศักดิ์ มณีชยางกูร), presided over the opening ceremony of this event in front of Satun College of Agriculture and Technology (วิทยาลัยเกษตรและเทคโนโลยีสตูล) in Khuan Kalong district.

Mr. Chusak says the event was organized to celebrate the 80th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King on December 5th, 2007 and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 75th birthday on August 12th this year.

He says the event will help prevent deforestation while restoring the natural habitat and reducing global warming.
