sbk
Residents of Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang warned of flash floodsThe Meteorological Department Sunday warned residents of four southern provinces to brace themselves against possible flash floods. The department said the influence of a low pressure ridge in the upper China Sea coupled with the southwest Monsoon wind over the Andaman and Gulf of Thailand would bring about heavy rains in many parts of the country. In its morning forecast issued at 4 am, the department said Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, and Trang would see the heaviest rains Sunday. The department said Bangkok, the Northeast, the East and the South on the eastern coast would see rains in 60 per cent of their areas. Rains would hit about 30 per cent of areas in the North, 40 per cent in the Central and 70 per cent in the South on the western coast.
