I'm not to sure that they are illegal. I've seen them being towed and there's been treads of people transporting boats long distances on trailers.

Take a look at this thread with Thai built motor homes from last year. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?sh...t=0&start=0

This link http://www.thaiflyingclub.com/linkmobilecampers.html gives information on someone manufacturing the campers fitted onto the back of a pickup.

Yes but these would be Thais......? I belive trailers/caravans are illegal here for Farlangs........ or towing them as you need a different license which is not issued to Non Thais..... That is what I was told by a long standing Thai friend in the car/car leasing Business

Maybe help ? http://www.motorhomesworldwide.com/engine_..._Campervan_Hire

Obviously dont drive a lot? If you did you would see lots. I have one for my boat and most lorries here are wagon and drag, ie trailor. I think it is just down to baht. Why buy a tailor when all you need to do is stack your pick up 20 foot high? As for caravans, I have driven all round thailand and even now average 1000km a week and have never seen one. With accom so cheap here why would you want one? Unless your'e an ozzy of course ha ha ha. :o

I stop in at that airfield mentioned i the Thai Flying Club blurb but always seem to miss Khun Prasert, the boss.

It's at the Klang Dong Airfield, aka Forego Aviation Club, in Pakchong, on the road up towards Korat.  About km 153 heading north there's a small sign on the left pointing across the highway to the entrance.  Take the next U-turn, come back a bit, and you'll see another sign pointing to the left to the entrace soi.

Only one complete that I've seen, photo attached.  Have seen other under fabrication but haven't seen any sold.
