A few years ago in Australia, actually about 15 years ago,i was talking to a guy in a bar who told me he had gone to Thailand to be cured of his heroin addiction and the monks had gave him some "black jelly" like stuff which made him vomit.

Anyone he stayed there for 3 months and got cured.

Im wondering if any such drug rehab places still exist?

I was up visiting with Monk Gordon at WTK this morning.  He's doing well and as happy as ever.

He said there's about 130 people in treatment right now of which some 60 are foreigners from:  Russia, Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Scotland, and Malaysia.  Must be a good time of the year for foreigners, I was surprised at the number.

FYI, I was visit re Lao-Hmong refugee issues, which is where I met Gordon some years back.  He did assist the Hmong there at the camp side of the wat for many years.

I dropped up to see Monk Gordon at WTK this morning, he's looking good. Got a full house in the rehab department right now, about 200 total, of which 20 are foreigners, of those, three are Americans. Also have 12 farang brown robed monks, grads of the detox program. The annual walkabout for Gordon and everybody else starts 1 April, if anyone is going up to visit. It's a month long.

And, if you do visit, good to stop by Tesco-Lotus Saraburi and pickup a large Pizza for him. Even better, if you're coming from Bangkok, see about stopping by a SUBWAY shop the day before and getting a: foot long, Italian BMT, double meat, all of everything on it, oil & vinegar, three (3) passes, not just the token one they usually do, black pepper and oregano. I picked one up for him Thursday when I was downtown, one for us, too, but the kids here got into the fridge last night and scarfed up half of his, so Gordon only got half, plus the pizza since I did stop by Lotus to pick one up.

Good timing here, "that other English language newspaper" in Thailand has an article with some photos this morning, check the Spectrum section.
