Two titillating events involving some of the world’s top up and coming models took place in Pattaya on the evening of October 6th. The first, held at the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, was a party to welcome Miss Maxim International winners from over 20 countries. The second took place after the party, when distinguished guests and media were invited by Elite Model Management South East Asia to take part in an exclusive voyage aboard the Fashion TV yacht, the F. Diamond.

Maxim, a magazine boasting 4.5 million copies sold each month in 46 countries, obviously well known within the male population throughout the world, opened the proceedings with a press conference to announce that a photo shoot was taking place here in Pattaya from September 29 until October 10. In front of the lens were winners of the Miss Maxim contest from 20 countries.

Representing Thailand was Miss Kathayawan Noinawet, Miss Maxim Thailand 2007, who had just won her title in July this year. In March this year, Maxim held their international conference in Koh Samui, and since it was such a big success, Maxim’s UK headquarters decided they couldn’t go wrong by choosing Thailand for this fun event. Pattaya seemed a logical choice, and was therefore the willing host. Alan Strutt, well known international modeling photographer, was here on location to photograph the 20 models within Pattaya and its surrounding area. Deputy Mayor Ronakit Ekasingh commented, “This is a great occasion for our city … welcoming top class models and professionals in the modeling field from around the world. They can help promote the city and many of its attractions, which will definitely bring in tourists and spread the good image of our city through the Maxim magazine, calendar and promotional DVDs.”

Following the press conference, a fashion show was put on featuring the Maxim models; snacks were served by the Amari and a free flow of Chang Light kept everyone hydrated. Once the fashion show finished, models were let loose to mingle and pose for photos with the guests. Lucky local and national press hounds were seen busily interviewing the models and the management of the Maxim magazine.

Later, aboard the F. Diamond, guests were treated to snacks and a sufficient flow of Chang Light, sponsors of the beer for the evening. This, however nice it was, was still just a prelude to the big event, the weekly fashion show up on the fashion deck where 50 international models were competing to become Miss FTV. As one lucky guest described it, “This was indeed an exciting event to be on the famous FTV yacht, F. Diamond,” the fabulous new 140 meter long luxury yacht that has 8 decks and over 200 luxury cabins, where the most exclusive Fashion TV parties in the world are held, “mix with the international fashion crowd where guests can see the models up close, watch them train, compete and sunbathe 24 hours a day.”

The ship carries 3 nightclubs with international DJs, a cocktail bar, indoor and outdoor restaurants, casinos, a stunning outdoor pool, a relaxing spa and “chill out” lounges. Fashion TV, founded by Michel Adam in 1997, who is now the president, is already looking back on an incredible success story. In his exclusive interview with PMTV he said, “Pattaya has meant a lot to me, and it will always have a place in my heart.” About 10 years ago he started a print screen shop here in Pattaya and from one it became 10 and gradually became a thousand shops. This year FTV is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a host of events and activities throughout the year, including cruising around the world in the F. Diamond.

Boasting a worldwide presence in more than 200 countries, FTV reaches 348 million households. Being the only global station focused exclusively on fashion, beauty and style, FTV broadcasts the very latest fashion 24/7. The F. Diamond Yacht Life Style World Tour will also feature the crowning of Miss Fashion TV. Thirty international models will compete for the coveted title each week. The highlight of the tour will be the Miss FTV Finals to be held during the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing in August 2008.
