Even though much of this was written and illustrated as early as 1500BC, in the eyes of the ethnocentrics, it is still a Western influence. Dare I mention hentai, anime, or manga. I do believe that it is Thailand that is known as the sex capital of the world and not the western world and yet it is your government and culture that chooses to turn a blind eye, not mine. THAI culture includes prostitution, brothels, worshipping money above all else, corruption, sexism of the worst kind in which men mistreat women with impunity, having mistresses, a rigid class system. What kind of academic study is it ? The student had even enough gut to give all details to this academic ? Personally I would have gone for something a bit more direct, like "Get caught banging here and you might find yourself being banged in the Bangkok Hilton". I've had some of my best ever sex on buses, both here and in Europe. I find mini-buses are even better for the "danger" factor, although on one occasion on an all-night trip to Hat Yai we pulled into a brightly lit gas station at a particularly inopportune moment. I'd be curious to know what actual number scores corresponds to. I agree with Kimo and the good Doctor. Nothing like you were criticizing western culture. But mind you, these guys are sensitive, a Thai girl that seems like criticizing their culture is unacceptable. See how they mock the Thais on a daily basis!Well, if really there is any wrong I'll have to find will be, they wouldn't be doing it in the back seats if that was imitating western culture. The "Student Inspector Unit" (sounds straight out of Orwell's 1984) caught a number of students doing it (whatever "it" can be interpreted to mean).
