I honestly have no idea. I have been assuming that the current construction is underground wiring since it has been promised on Taphae for the past ten years or so! 

Think not unless they are putting the wires into 2 metre wide water pipes.

Wait until that is finished before they dig up the road again to do the wires?

...after that's all done then you'll be wishing the whole thing was back to the way it is right now, uneven steel plates and covers and all!

Sort of like the way I wish they never "bricked" Ratchadamnoen Road...? :o

What is more irritating about Ratchadamnoen Rd - the bricks or the bric-a-brac?

The bricks actually look nice but they have loosened up to the extent that it makes for a rather uneasy motorbike ride at a speed of say, over 20 km/h. :D

Well, thanks all for the enlightning information. I now have a good idea, where to shop for computer stuff but also know which roads to avoid.
