Another Quitter

Just found this forum -- brilliant idea. The more support to stop the better. I actually stopped on Dec 21 last year (didn't want to do the usual Jan 1st reso). So far so good, though still grumpy and still plenty of cravings. But as an experienced quitter (done it many, many times) I think the important thing is being mentally sure you want to stop, then just being plain pig-headed in seeing it through. This method doesn't require gum or tablets.

Anyway, first three weeks are done and still going strong . . .

Keep going fergus :o

I don't smoke, tried it and didn't like it but my father was a very heavy smoker so I grew up with it around me. He quit when he was 50. He said it was one of the best things he ever did for himself and his family. It took ages for his tastebuds to come back and then when they did, it was with a vengeance. But he said its nice to be able to taste his food, smell the flowers and not taste cigarettes or smell tobacco.
