A quick slap to the head does not leave you bloody under the table. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- A British man who volubly objected to the presence of a loan shark in the restaurant in which he was dining was knocked unconscious when he made an obscene gesture at the man. Police lead Tawatchai Rooruab to the cells after he attacked a British man in a Soi Phothisarn restaurant. Police were called out at 1 a.m. on February 28 to the Krau Marum Music Restaurant on Soi Phothisarn, a restaurant and karaoke bar, where they found Gordon Robert Head, 56, lying covered in blood under a table. He had a wound to the head, bruises to his face and body, and was unconscious. The officers administered first aid until he regained consciousness, and then transferred him to Banglamung Hospital for treatment. The attacker was identified as Tawatchai Rooruab, also known as Ai Kung, a 29-year-old resident of Sukhothai. He had a bloodstained right hand, and had not had time to escape from the restaurant. Kung stated that he was a loan shark and was collecting money in the restaurant. A foreign man had shouted obscenities at him and made a gesture with his middle finger. Kung said he became angry and struck the man, who hit his head on a pillar on his way to the floor. Prakanong Posted March 13, 2008 Share Posted March 13, 2008 Now I am British and hate the generalisations but this is 3 Brtish guys in just over a week in their 50's beaten up for sticking their nose in where its not wanted The guy with the bagof stones over his head The Karaoke objection guy This guy Are these cases of Victor Meldrew and too many drinks they are not used to? At an age when it probably not a good idea to get in scrapes with younger guy's they seem to be doing so - would they do this athome with strangers? They also often pawn their gold just before the farang arrives in-country and the farang pays for the retreival of that too. Police Lieutenant Colonel Wirawoot from Pattaya Police Station joined rescue workers at the Krua Maroom Music Bar located in Soi Potisan in Naklua in the early hours of Thursday Morning to investigate a serious assault on a English Man. At the scene, rescue workers attended to Mr. Robert Gordon aged 56 http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=171991 Same day, same soi, same place, same age. Just the name is a little different. Same news if you ask me. Just a different reason for the beating (Loan shark or taste of music). I couldn't for the life of me figure out why a 56-year old man would get into such a heated altercation knowing full well how these things end. Maybe the wife borrowed money. It is in fact the same story, but from two different news agencies, the details so completely different. 1 assailant vs. 2. Reason given not bad taste in music but the fact a money lender was involved. My apologies, same karaoke bar. The part I struggled with was the description of how he ended up in a bloody, unconcious puddle on the floor. After bouncing off the table end and then richocheting off the nearby pillar.
