War on drugs to start on April 2

BANGKOK: -- The government will launch its war on drug on April 2 and mobilise all units to crack down on illicit drugs for 90 days, Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrun said on Wednesday.

Chalerm said he was aware of a difficult fight ahead but expected cut down the trafficking. He called for strict law enforcement without heeding the concern of human right advocates.

Hmm,... Best stock up now, then... :o Prices will be going up soon as the police attempt to curtail their own supply chain... Right.

Well, now I've seen it all. Rather than simply pretending they are NOT committing abuses, a government minister calls for people to ignore the human rights advocates. Just another few meters down the rabbit hole...

Maybe April 1st would be a more suitable day to start.

:o:D

Absolute joke of it is that the governement only pulls stunts like this when they have other agendas to carry out that are best kept out of the public eye.

Simple magicians trick. Distract with one hand - rob the state coffers with the other.

Last war on drugs masked things like the CTX scanner fiasco amongst other things.

This can be the only country in the world that tells the drug trafficers that they are coming for them on a specific day.

is this april fools day or what, its so serious it is laughable.

beggers belief

maybe they should stop the <deleted> merc driver from being on the road,he seems to be killing more people than the drug trafficers.

Time to streamline the infrastructure , take care of any old grudges, eliminate political adversaries , and get a few brownie points with the boss. Oh and fight the drug problem too if we have a chance.
