BANGKOK, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Two men and four women were killed and a girl was severely injured when an oil tanker train crashed into a pick-up truck at a train crossing in Thailand's eastern province of Rayong Wednesday afternoon.

The accident happened at 1:20 pm (0620 GMT) in the province's Mabtapud district, according to the website of The Nation's newspaper.

The pick-up truck was crossing the road and was crashed into by the speeding train.

Five died at the scene and a woman died on her way to hospital.

I'm glad to see the forum name change. So, the first post in the newly named forum is a death story. The roads in Mataput are not properly maintained and very dangerous. I hit a bad patch of asphalt/sand on my motorbike and slid out. I'm lucky, only got a broken leg. I'm sure the rail crossing was also unsafe. Life is cheap in Thailand.
