george
Tourists nabbed in Pattaya pub raid CHONBURI: -- Police in Thailand's eastern resort city of Pattaya in Chonburi Province today called on the Chonburi provincial governor to close a pub in the popular tourist resort, after conducting a raid on a pub where customers were openly taking ecstasy, methamphetamines and marijuana. The raid, conducted following public complaints that the pub was operating beyond its licensing hours, uncovered not only drugs, but also the fact that the pub had been opening its doors to young people under the statutory minimum age of 20 years. Urine tests on the 100-plus tourists revealed 21 positive tests for substance misuse, while four people were caught for failing to carry their identity cards. Police detained the owner of the pub on charges of operating an unlicensed entertainment venue, selling alcohol without a license, and allowing people under the age of 20 to enter the premises. --TNA 2004-10-

sriracha john
I am wondering how many (or how few) were tourists, given they report that people were busted for not carrying identity cards (sounds like Thais) and also reported they were allowing underage persons (again, sounds like Thais). Up2U
Only Tony's, Hollywood, X-zyte, Marine and similar would have that sort of crowd, surely? nd they are 'disco's', rather than 'pubs'. Doi Thong
So simple-pay your monthly police bills and stay open...the owner probably smoked too much shit and forget this rule..
Pattayaguy1999
Looks like mostly Thai(s)....hmmmmmmm The article reported it was the Hot Wave Bar in North Pattaya; opposite Tiffany Show. All customers seem to be Thai nationals. An unlicensed bar with underage Thai drug users should qualify for permanent closure.
