When I look closely at the tone mark on your enlarged letters,I can see that it is a "mai-toh",but it looks kinda strange when reading it quickly! Definitely. Always use "mai chai" as a negation for nouns and noun phrases. For verbs and verb phrases, either "mai" or "mai dai", (formal "mi' dai") will work.
