Thai Tutor Wanted

OK to speed up the learning process I would like to hire a Thai tutor/teacher for 1-2 times a week.

- it has to be after working hours (after 19.00)

- location has to be close to Chaeng Watthana

Does anyone have any recommendations? What would it cost me ?

Thanks in advance

I couldn't agree more with the last person. Among the many obvious things about Thai teachers/tutors is that they, generally, have had a very formal education. If you don't like being very passive as a student then I'd say that this is probably not your best option. But if you do choose a westerner as a tutor then you need to bear in mind that his/her pronunciation is likely to be typical of a non-native Thai speaker. Unfortunately, this is a problem that can often be far more pernicious than we realize, as you may inherit the errors of your tutor, and may only realize it in retropect. There are, in fact, few westerners that sound like Thais and vice-versa.

If you work in a school and have good relationships with the staff there, approach them about daily 10 minute lessons. If you make it reciprocal, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
