Groongthep
I've never met a Thai woman, unless a Pattaya migrant worker, that has married a Western man with a beard.Does anyone have any theories about why they hate them so much? Could it be that they look so plain silly?

Nongwahyay
I grew a beard at the age of 19 and wore it 36 years, before shaving it off (the moustache I still have) only 3 months ago. My wife liked my beard and didn´t actually want me to shave it off - and everyone I´ve met in Thailand always readily accepted it (and been fascinated by it....at least the locals in Isaan...... ). But I must admit I prefer myself without it now (makes me look 10 years younger....... )
jetjock
I am so dam_n good looking that it would be almost criminal to cover up my charming handsome face with a beard !! The one time I did grow a beard and mustache, everyone told me I looked like a Mexican bandito. I think my wife would now disown me if I grew one again. thesunset75
Shaved it look clean and neat same as you guys like on woman. My ex husband he has beard but he shaved all of before came to Thailand and he says he found out that Thai woman doesnt like it. He shows me his pic with beard and i agreed he was so scary to me and lucky i met him with shaved face. It was pinning my lips and face when he kissed me and the more you older the harder beard will be ? My bf he have little beard but doesnt hurt my lips-cheeks, and I like him to shave every 2-3 days. LooseCannon
Oh for the taste of those feminine toes , as you run your fingers slowly and gently up those soft , smooth legs , scarcely touching the warm skin , but rather breathing through the tips of your fingers , inhaling the fragrance radiating from the extension of a warm and passionate body , to linger , and yet to envision with a harried mind , the intricate vibrations of expectant copulation . One should never "Race" , approach in a relaxed manner , time waits for no man except in certain circumstance . Please keep both hands on the keyboard at all times. sutnyod
Think your impression, OP, is wrong. I know a lot of mixed couples where the husband has a beard. There must be something attractive about beards; why then are so many Asian men desperately trying to grow one?

Are we talking about Hugo Boss male model beards or Professor of the Maths Department at Cambridge beards ? None of the above seem to go for Thai women. Maybe more the Scandinavian seaman's beard. I actually remembered one PhD guy I worked with in a Bangkok Uni. He had a little beard but his wife was an ugly little intellectual, Chinese/Thai, moneygrabbing, PhD loving type. He could have had 2 heads and she'd still have married him. Amazing what some Thai women will put up with for money or better social standing. LooseCannon
Never heard a Thai women saying anything good about beards, but plenty of negative comments. Most of the negative comments were related to the cleanliness of the beard & their desire not to touch it. During my younger days, when I was out to impress, I liked to keep clean shaven (facially) as this is what the young ladies liked.

mogoso
quote But I also had a long term mustache and the new wife finally insisted I shave it. Just before I did, I realized that I hadn't shaved it since 1977, and that it was 2 years younger than my wife.... It went anyway, but not before I had a series of flashbacks, none of which included a visible upper lip. ================================================================= I've managed to keep my moustache in one form or another since 1968. For a few years it was hidden amidst a very long unkept beard ala ZZ Top with the hair on my head to match. Now I keep it in a type of <deleted> manchu that varies from 3 to 6 inches below my chin. Over the years many thai ladies have suggested cutting it, but some like it. My wife doesn't like it much, but it is 4 years older than she is. Sabum
Ok, being the kind of guy that randomly likes to change his appearance at any given moment I can tell you my experience. Higher class girls dig a little beard growth, I've never grown a beard to the length it hides the shape of my face, so cant comment on that, but scruffy on a handsome face gets alot of attention here. As for bar girl type of women... no idea.
Jimjim
I know many American girls in the West who love beards because they look manly. I've only met one Thai woman that liked a beard.
MidoriApple
I am Thai lady, and I do like beard (not mine, but my man's) a lot.. Just a little growth, not as much as Santa Claus has it I really love its sound when I scratch onto it By the way, I see Sean Connery looks very much charming with his beard.. I don't mind if a man looks good with beard like him... so he may has beard... For Thai girls, I guess man with beard seems dirty whilst here is so hot.. Feel like beard and hairy body will cause unpleasant smell. Also with beard, man will look older than real age. Also (again) man will look jai-raai (mean person). Just my 2 cents, whilst I am the one who love beard

h90
as a female, i don't find beards attractive whatsoever as a male, I also don't find girls with beards attractive
eek
^ you apply that to women too? (women shouldnt shave, leave it all natural) The only beard growth I liked on a man was small goatie ..max. Anything more, is a bit of a turn off. Sorry. Clean feels nice, a bit of stubble can look sexy. But when it comes down to it, doesnt really matter, its how a man treats his woman that matters. She may not like some things about his appearance, but if she loves him and he treats her well, those things are irrelevant. ..imo
