thaihome
You don't say what passport you hold, but chances are you need a visa. Suspect you are going to have to go to Bangkok to get it. You can also fly into HK first and get one there in a day. TH Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Thailand

Jecking Tours If you have the time, would recomend just get it here first. TH Edited September 25, 2008 by thaihome
nonthaburial
your best bet as a UK passport holder is to go to HK for which you dont need a visa, then go to any China Travel Service offices and as previously stated you can get your China Visa within the day. If you are going to Shenzhen then simply take the KCR train from Kowloon to Lo Wu and hey presto your laughing. But be aware, the border closes at 11pm I think
waime
You will need a visa. The cost for a visa for UK and US is differnet then then other nationalities. I recieved mine from the chinese embassy in Bangkok 2 weeks ago and the cost was 5570 baht other nationalities only pay 1000 baht. Be sure to have a copy of your ticket and a paid hotel reservation.
