el jefe
I thought there would be people with Shan/Ahka connections wanting to talk about Kengtong, Monglar etc? I have taken my Isuzu up to Monglar 14 times by myself. The paperwork needed in Maesai few foreigners know about. The restrictions on travel in the Eastern Shan State changes frequently. The border at Monglar into China etc. etc. Well then why don't you tell us about that paperwork, chief? I've been to Kyiang Tung and Mong Lar. I've tried to do it "unescorted" but have always failed. Border officials insist that the only way to go is by bus or taxi ( up to 5 people). I'd love to go back if there was a way to go on my own. We're you really able to cross the border at Mong Lar in China? It took me a week to do it. I had to get back to Mai Sai, then Chiang Mai. From there I flew Bangkok Air to Jinghong ( a flight that no longer exists). it sounds like you have a lot of knowledge. Care to share any of it?
