Going out is not an option for us: Crowded, overpriced and too many disappointments from the past. Our menu will look like this: Cold starter or soup with home baked breads and a good french butter. Roasted turkey or a goose, brussel sprouts(fresh, not frozen), red cabbage, roasted potatoes and potato dumplings, may be some stuffing with the bird, lots of gravy of course . Hi Gerd, well I think a lot of people will not want to spend thousands of Baht this year for a Xmas lunch or dinner at one of the high priced events, but neither want to or can cook for themselves so we are offering for those in Bangkok a fantatstic selection of festive food at the Bistro or via chefrsxp at reasonable prices. One of the specials is going to be a very rich, festive Walnut Bread which we will also offer through our on-line shop and can be ordered by anyone, no matter where you are in Thailand. We will send it by EMS - wrapped in Klingfilm it will travel very well - it's really special and I love it just with butter for breakfast .. lunch or any time of day I will put it on our shop at the Eurogourmet site by the end of next week for Thanksgiving and it will be on offer until after Xmas - from the week before Xmas - the same accounts for Mince Pies and Stollen by the way John Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Goinghomesoon Posted November 10, 2008 Share Posted November 10, 2008 (edited) We went to one of the big 5-star buffet lunches on the Chao Phraya last year. It was pretty standard. As expected the seasonal foods prepared specially for the day and the Xmas pud in particular, were standouts. Otherwise it was your basic all-you-can-eat-and-drink buffet with a LOT of wine and beer consumed and funny hats worn. We are thinking of trying somewhere in Hua Hin, maybe the Hyatt, this year.
