Stoke City Fc .... The Potters 1863

I'm sad Matty has gone. Don't understand why he's been out and that utter COCK Boa Morte has been playing.

Suddenly the bloke with the long throw isn't going to be your main danger man.

They're both sh*t & if we want to progress and become a better Team, it's a good deal Brother, trust me on that...

sounds like james beatie is close to signing from sheff utd.experienced in premier league and 12 goals in the championship, and a good dead ball free kick specialist.seems a good type of player for our style so hope we can get him for next wek.

"If Stoke did this kind of thing at Old Trafford and ripped up 100 seats we would be highlighted as being the biggest thugs in the country, but just like their football team, United fans get away with everything."

Come on, you added that bit Steve....! :o

Nope that was Brian Shaw of the Stoke City supporters club speak the truth! Just like your thugs and whingers on the pitch who get away with everything.

Got to say I am now looking forward to the game today - hopefully Kitson will be upfront and Matty on the wing . . . maybe Lawrence putting an appearance . . . :D

So Rooneys attempted elbow with intent or the greasy wanke_rs petulant kick at Wilkinson were just 'nothing' then . .. . if any of the officials had a spine both would of walked before Wilkinson got sent off and the game would of taken a completely different route. Wilkinson's 2nd challenge granted was a yellow card but the 1st was nothing like a yellow card offence.

Anyway tonights point against the Scousers will do me nicely and take us out of the relegation zone .. .. .. although on the balance of chances we should of stuck one away and taken 3 points.

So the top in the league manage a grand total of 3 attempts (or was it 4?) on target over 90 minutes! :D

Etherington had a good debut game - we look far more balanced with an outlet in midfield what we've been missing since Lawrence got himself injured. Can't wait for Etherington and Lawrence to be playing in the same team . . . hopefully we'll have Beattie and Kitson up front for away at Chelski where another point or even 3 wouldn't go amiss :D

Manure fans should be happy we've pegged the scousers back.

Gooooooooooooooooarrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn you mighty Potters!

great result for the mighty Potters but its hard work watching our style of play.yes, results are the most important thing, but its bloody lucky i have a strong heart.

realy am finding the defensive attitude quite boring now.as the thais say, same same same same.we have to score goals to keep us up and that pattern of play will not give us many games.at the end of the season i wont care, especialy if tp starts to get better players in.

What do you want from me, I won't admit that United players are any worse than others or, that they're any better, why should I....? We're not, it just gets highlighted more cos its us....!

There are plenty more teams that play more physically than us and, get away with a lot too, I don't bleat all day about it why? Cos we win, you would be the same or similar if your team won like we do.

I know plenty of neutrals that find these comments quite amusing as they watch all the games not just the ones including their teams.

As for Benitez's comments that Fergie never gets in trouble, yet in the same interview says that he got a £10 grand fine and a touchline ban. Losing touch with reality in January, not a good sign.

Well done tonight.... :D

I ain't bleating about anything just stating the facts - Rooney inparticular got away with absolute murder - firstly directly infront of the linesman he swung his elbow purposely trying to hit Ab Faye who luckily blocked it with his arm. Following this incident he then ran away from the linesman shouting at him '<deleted> off you f*cking c*nt' - plain for all to see on TV but the spineless tosser with the flag did absolutely nothing.

It's nothing to do with physicality that is just plain thuggery and I can honestly hand on heart say if Fuller had done something similar the wanke_r with the whistle would have friction burns from pulling the red card out of his pocket so quick!

Just like the spat between Fuller and Griffin at the WHU game - Fuller was stupid no doubt but the referee did not see it and was most likely inform by one of the other officials. The referee couldn't get his card out quick enough without even the thought of taking both players to the one side and talking to both and Tony Pulis who could just substituted one or both, absolutely no need to send him off. If Rooney has done this do you honestly believe he'd of been sent of similarly?

Anyway a really good point last night - can't believe some of the negativity about the game I was fully entertained by it! Both teams had very good defences so the chances were always going to be minimal and in my opinion we weren't that negative we frequently go the ball to Etherington and let him run at them and created more opportunities than the Scousers. Our chances we far clearer cut as well, in reality we should have taken one of them - with some liners the Shawcross goal would even of stood!

For Stoke there was some many positives such as Etherington, Kitson playing the full 90 mins, Lawrence coming on and the defence is back to old meaness we know as love. With the Beattie seemingly being certain to sign at the next home game we can have Lawrence and Etherington on the wings with Beattie and Kitson up front. Adding to that we might even sign Ledley yet so he can replace Whelan who imho is dire and always seems to be carried by his midfield partner.

Looking forward to Chelski . . .

Liverpool fan here. Good job in the match. You really should have won. Stoke'll be in the relegation fight all season and may lose it as (same as about 12 other clubs, heh heh) but you surely won't go without a fight. The league is so much closer this year because teams like Stoke and Hull are fighting until the last whistle every week.

Cheers for that! :o

The one thing that is absolutely certain about us is we won't go quietly - the squad will fight with every last breath - Stoke fans knew this before the season started but the supposed 'experts' expected us to 'do a derby'. I bet Paddy Power aren't feeling quite so smug these days after paying out bets of us being after the first game!

On a note of Hull they certainly look like they are on the greasy slope to the bottom 3 - no points for god knows how long and getting comfortably beaten weekly. Add to this a total lack of any depth in the squad, lack of transfer activity and after the on pitch half time team talk hilarity I bet tangoman has totally lost the dressing room. Pretty much every year there is a early season pacesetter who no one predicted to be up at the top for the first few months who when the going get tough slip away to mid table or relegation.

It's probably the most exciting and competitive Premiership league ever with just 6 points between 9th and 18th, a pretty much open title race and Aston Villa breaking up the top 4!

I watched the Stoke/Liverpool game last night, and I thought Stoke were definately worthy of their point. I actually really enjoy watching Stoke in the Premier league, they offer something very very different and it's great to see defences such as liverpool's shake a little as they did for a spell last night when the aerial bombardment came.

I really do hope Stoke stay up and stick to their style of play and 'never say die' approach. I think there's room for a team like that in the Premier league.

I thought the Stokies were great last night & played the best way they could & were successful in executing the only way for Teams like Stoke to get anything out of the Top 4, & that's " Get up em " !!

Didn't stop for a moment & a great point..

Agree with the talk about Hull, i called it a while back but my head said they had too many points already to get relegated but 6 Games on, i'm not so sure..

Nice to receive plaudits instead of the usual balls about 'kicking them off the park' . . cheers all! :D

I guess we could put another nose out of joint next on Saturday at Chelski!

Sure our away form so far ain't been anything to write home about but all being we'll not only have Beattie in the squad but fingers crossed another attacking midfielder and maybe even a full back. Adding to this there Home form ain't great and currently they seem be struggling so probably the best time to make the visit.

Beating Arsenal and drawing twice with Liverpool then taking points off Chelski on Sat I think we can say we'll of made some impression on the eventual winners of the title! :D Pity we couldn't of held on for a point v Manure the other week but the ref was never going to allow that to happen. :o:wai:

We owe Chelski for the 0-2 defeat at the Britannia - at 0-1 down we were all over them but gifted them a stupid second goal through some comedy defending and it completely knocked the stuffing out of us. Also this time Delap will be fit - at the Britannia they were spared as he picked up a knock the day before.

1st away win of the season on Sat'day . . . I BELIEVE!!!!!! :D :D

Just let Deco and Lampard keep giving the ball to Drogba and you should be alright.

Got to sort the Away Form out though Chaps if you're gonna stay up..

You've got to get, in my opinion, 8 or 9 points away from Home from now until the end of the Season PLUS your Home Points..

This is true and Tony Pulis has said this himself - hopefully starting with a 3 point haul at Chelski on Saturday.

Beattie is now a Stoke player so it'll be Beattie and Kitson upfront on Saturday and Etherington on the left and Rory's missiles coming in from both sides - which will certainly give them something to think about!

Our defence has proven several times already this season they can handle the best - we've just got put the ball in the back of the net more frequently at the other.

Really looking forward to Saturday especially being the top billed game on Truesports 1 . . . :o

GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARN STOKE.

Cheers for the nice comments rather than some jumped up journalist that still thinks aresole-nal play the beautiful game.Hope the thrashing by man u will make chelsea twitchy and nervous against the mighty potters.

Overall i thought a draw was a fair result against liverpool but we did make them look an ordinary team.

Be Loyal

Be Proud

I really hope you make it,

From the few times I have seen Stoke I rate Fuller and Delap, but feel so sorry that you wasted money on Sonko...who has not got a game(I think) since he gave away a needless penalty a few weeks ago.

He is so darn clumsey, thats why we were glad to see him go. He will either give away a needless penalty or get sent off in one out of three games he plays.

The great thing you have going for you is that when you lose ..its nearly always by the odd goal, which is encouraging even though those defeats dont put any points on the board, when you are the odd goal down there is always a chance of a comeback,,,if you are 3-0 down,,,its game over.

You are right about Hull though...they are in freefall, a few more defeats and they will be scrapping for survival

Kitson can be dynamite, but with all his injury problems and lack of confidence in front of goal it's just not happening for him right now,,,similar to Kevin Doyle last season..now he is scoring for fun.

Looking forward to playing you next year....if things pan out for Stoke and Reading..in the Premiership of course

If it was me i'd go for damage limitation at Chelsea on Saturday, just so that the confidence doesn't get knocked too much & i'm not taking the p*ss..

Wounded Animals & all that where Chelsea are concerened..

These Games are nothing more than bonus points anyway, that's how you should look at them..

We still do now even after being in the top flight for 4 Seasons again now

True points.

However Chelsea really do seem all at sea at the moment (was it Southend who they draw with in the FA Cup?) - I think it's the best possible time to visit!

Don't mention bloody Sonko! He's been to directly blame for 5 goals (or possibly more!) thus far this season utter bloody liability and more importantly cost us numerous points.

As for Kitson the best is yet to come - no two ways about it! He hasn't had the service so far since we've had no wingers however with Etherington signed, Lawrence coming back and a real centre forward in Beattie to play along he's only going to improve. Fuller and Sidibe have done the job so far but it's all to one dimensional and relies too much on Fuller pull some magic out of the bag - which he just ain't been doing.

As with most Stoke fans - have a bit of a soft spot for Reading as we spent so many seasons going up and down playing in the same divisions. Also we seem to be a major bogey team for you as well . . . especially when a certain Peter Hoekstra was in our team. :o
