Police bust swinging party, arrest 13 foreign men

BANGKOK: -- Police raided a swinging party in a Bangkok hotel late Wednesday night and arrested 13 foreign men, seven Thai women and three foreign women.

The raid took place at 0:15 am Thursday at the Elizabeth Hotel on Praditpat Road in Samsen district.

Police also arrested a couple - Christian Richards and his Thai wife, for allegedly organising the swinging sex tour.

When police raided the room No 1101 on the 11th floor of the hotel, police found several couples were having sex in the same room while others were drinking and dancing.

Police found used condoms, lubricant gel, porno books and CDs and 30 pills of Viagra.

We all know that Thai women don't do things like this.

Only Farang do this.

They make nice Thai women bad!!!!!!!!

So I take it that if the parties are advertised as "free" with a "donation" ( of a monetary kind) at the door then there would be no problem.

What constitutes "lewd behaviour" in Thailand, according to the law ? I'll need to inform the missus. :o

An Ode to Siam

I want you all to know

that I once saw a banana show

in a bar upstairs that had no escape

from fire and Reign

I walked home on crowded sois

amidst the whores and noise

happy to be in the land of free

where life was there to see

I'm older now but still engaged

living with the animals uncaged

I fear the sidewalks crumbling stone

but not to spend the night alone.

Okay, now obviously these people had to pay for the party and it happened in a hotel room which is not private property.

So I am curious to know if it is illegal if I invite 13 male Thai friends between the age of 20 and 36 who all have office jobs or work as surgeons in hospitals to my private home, get all naked and have hot nasty dirty sex with each other, using condoms and viagra. If the police knocks on the door because the neighbours complain about loud music i.e. and they encounter 13 naked boys and one girl, would I get arrested?

Is it illegal to have a strap-on penis in my private residence and other sex toys?

Oh, no, what is wrong with a bunch of people having sex at a hotel. People do it all over the world. I would expect this to happen in Vatican or Washington, but Thailand?

Apparently this has made the international news.....i dun see how sex & thailand can be newsworthy

I didn't know it was against the law to have sex behind closed doors. When did they introduce the no sex please we are thai policy. No sex in thailand, 1st the demos at the airport now a ban on sex the thai economy is going to be in real bad shape without the sex tourists comming. What is going to happen to places like Pattaya. I am married to a thai and living in chiangmai just hope I don't get that knock on the door in the middle of the night.

:D:D:wai::o:D:D

Channel 7 is just now showing footage of the raid. The organizers might be a western, but the participants seem to be all Asian men. Although I completely disapprove of any kind of sex tours, why does the police have to make such a big thing out of it? Just to continously discredit foreigners living in Thailand? They better show the crowds of Thais who rip off the foreigners for a living every day.

When things are screwed up, blame(persecute) the foreigners.

Remember the Gov was "angry" when they bought Thaksins satellite company.

Last year it was that Temple on the Cambodian border.

As far as Thais ripping off foreigners, scroll down this page and se how tourists are being treated.

Post #105: A British guy and his girlfriend walking along the beach at 2 am set up by some "cops". This is not really a case of tourists being treated badly, it's just a case of tourists doing stupid things and paying the price.

You missed the point!

The charges were made because the couple were apparently doing this on a commerical basis and advertising extensively. This we know is illegal. They have hosted over 100 parties in 3 years.

The participants were only fined 1000 baht and released.

Walking down a beach at a major tourist destination....how stupid....

Quite sad, really. Is there a law against 'organizing a sex party'? Other than the porn and maybe the pills, I am not sure what law was broken.

Apparrently watching porn & taking Viagra are against the law.

Uh oh! You need a new hobby! :jerk: :burp::D:D:D:D

The more proper adjective in this case would be obviously "weird". Sometimes I've got that urge to attach a pair of angel wings to my back and fly around in my rented room. Is it illegal despite living in the city of angels? Even if I promise not to hit the lamp? So many questions and no answers. Ain't make life any easier. :o

It is illegal to organize and promote sex tours or sex tourism in Thailand. This will be the basis of the charges.

What are you saying?

Those people were doing sex in a hotel room. Then they didn't nor organized and nor promoted any sex tour.

That hotel must be ban and boycott by the western tourists.

The farang organizer probably didn't have a work permit to host sex parties.

If he was a monk and an English teacher in the past, those work permits do not allow hosting sex parties as part of the

job description.

If this brit goes to renew his Visa in the future, he may be asked to bring a photo of the sex parties with all of the people sitting on the bed

together in order to qualify for his extension.

The next step is to rent a boat and have sex parties at sea.....after being deported and towed out to the middle of the Andaman.

I think few farang here know the "system". Thailand like other Asian nations is a conservative nation shy about sex. Really. ../long drivel snipped/..

You claimed Thailand is conservative and have been so for hundreds of years. Not so. The Victorian values that is on the rise since the 30ies is IMPORTED and not native to the country.

Much like North Africa and the Middle East had foreigners visit and proclaim that the countries was filled with smut and sexual filth (belly dancing, harems etc), the countries started adopting a more western guilt-about-sex-way only to be meet today by 'how can you be so oppressive'-mentality and the likes of you that pretend it's pat of the culture. It's not. It's just a delayed correction towards the influence from the west.

I just hope we can work against some of the western hysteria about sex (especially the trade of it). Even in the US, the land of the Free, it's more accepted to show a man having his head blown off than two men kissing. A kick to the groin is accepted in PG-13 movies but not a naked breast of a woman.

Killing and violence is more accepted than love and sex. Something is sick in the world.

Agreed. History has been written by the victors, so-to-speak. With control of the masses being one of the caveats that came with the price-tag.

What really annoys me is that the police themselves have sex parties. I have seen photos and actually talked to a cop who has been to one. The parties might be a little different in style, but still, the girls are paid (and often under-age) and there are multiple sex partners.

You can also see everyday in many Thai style Karoke bars around the place the police in there drinking, often after hours when the doors are shut with under-age girls (CONFIRMED-a work collegue owns one). Many of the girls in the Karoke bars are way under age! And although not actively working as prostitutes, they are often available after hours if they themselves want to be, (for money).

There is a whole other side to BKK, that farang never see (even the farang that have been here for many years), special brothels and bars and clubs. And you only need to look at the news every once and a while to see the police occaisionally get caught (normally from outside prosecuters-not the police themselves) for organising sex-slavery, bribary, rapes, extortion, ... the list is TRULY endless and rife!

I was recently sickened to find out my new girlfriends' ex-boyfriend was a cop, who had been dating her since she was 15!!!

And more amazed she didn't see what was wrong about it (she's now 28).

I see shocking corruption and flauting of the law everyday by these low-life cops. Maybe I am biased because my work requires me to be in the darkest corners of Thai society alot of the time and work alongside them, but really I have never felt such a hate of people as I have for the cops of Thailand. They are truly the scum of Thai society(along with the politicians) bringing down the whole social structure of Thai society to new lows. I have seen it all, along with mistakenly interfeering in an incident and having a gun pointed at my head by a drunk cop!

I feel so sorry for the average Thai person who has to live in this environment of insecurity and unfairness. My heart really goes out to these people! This is the reason I stay and try to help those less fortunate (before you get on your bandwagon and tell me if I dont like it to get out!:o)

Thailand is never going to progress when corruption is so innate here. But I really dont know if it is possible to stop it anymore, it is such an ingrained part of Thai society that its hardly considered corruption anymore.

At the end of the day, what was the point to raiding and arresting the people at this sex party? A bit of media attention and maybe a bit of tea money.

There are plenty of better things the cops could be doing than this! Like actually solving a "real" case! (yeah right!)

Late last year I checked this old posting out and found that these guys are still working the same tourist scams that the police and tourist police were informed about LINK: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.p...6476&page=6 (This is just one example of the police corruption and/or laziness)

Foreigners will always be a target of corruption and rip offs, but its the job of websites like this to warn them of the dangers. With the present economic climate things are only going to get worse and more desperate. In my job I have seen violent crimes almost double in the last year! Thats no coincidence and is actually a global trend to varying degrees.

Be careful out there: you are just one of many targets and you just need to take extra care in everything you do. And think yourself lucky if you have no idea, or hardly beleive, what I have just talked about.

Sorry for such a serious blurt! Every now and then we gotta' let it all out right?:D

On the brighter side: Thailand is a cool place to be if you can avoid all this! Otherwise we wouldn't be here would we!:D

I really do LOVE it here, I just wish sometimes I could stick my head in the sand and enjoy it more:)

For all those who are questioning if what happened in the room is illegal or not, your missing the heart of the issue (as far as the locals were concerned). These "swinging" parties had been openly advertised online for a while now - it was just a matter of time before the cops got involved.

While this stuff goes on all the time behind closed doors the locals, being generally conservative, start feeling awkward when it's advertised openly (especially from an outsider to outsiders). Yes, hypocrisy on a level completely off-the-charts, but that's the way things are done here.

Talking specifically about Bangkok here, but where was the last place you seen sex advertised for sale? Massages, soapies, go go's, beer bars, lady drinks, bar fines, coyote dancing, sexy dancing (no, it's different, honest), lesbian shows etc etc etc. But never a mention of the 3 letter word...

Read the work permit and visa explanations.

If there was money exchanging hands and the work permit was not for the purposes of organizing "non profit" sex parties, then there was a violation of the visa. As well, commercial operations are supposed to have proper permits. :o Fire safety and all that.

C'mon now all you people complaining about lax fire safety laws. 23 people in a small area. All those hot bodies grinding sending sparks flying , there could have been a fire.

Besides, who knows, maybe another guest wanted to sleep and got fed up with the thumping, banging and moaning of elderly fornicators. Try sleeping next door to a moaner. You'll understand how annoying it is.

:jerk:

What?? I didn't know you needed a prescription for Viagra in Thailand??? Odds are it's fake anyway. Demand a drug analysis. I'd hate to see somebody executed for having a giant bag of oregano, haha. Just because it looks like it, doesn't mean it "is". Case and Point....Ladyboys, haha...ok, ok, ok...

Me missing the point? I never miss the point. That is why I manage to get 13 dancing naked boys in my palacial mansion without paying for it. Regarding the strap-on penis, it is 7 inches long, made in Korea, and it fits into Thai boys very well.

To my husband: honey, I am not coming home. I am already at home! You were on your so called business trip when I had the 13 hot nasty sexy dancing boys coming to our house for free. But I did manage to buy some milk.
