james24
Hi there Just moved to Bkk up from Phuket after a year and can't seem to find ANY teaching work. I taught in Phuket the whole time and was never out of work but here I can't find any. I was told that this is the easiest place in Thailand to find work but I must be missing something?? I dont have a degree but do have a CELTA and have noticed that most vacancies want a degree or is this just a front for the regulators?? Is it better to contact the schools directly rather than through a website or agency?? Also the other thing is, if I really cant find anything here am I better off trying Chiang mai? Cheers for your help :-)
otherstuff1957
This is probably the worst time of year to be looking for a job. The school year ends in a month or so so all of the schools are pretty well fully staffed. Not having a degree won't make things any easier. I'd knock on the doors of the various language schools looking for some part-time work to last until April. Most schools will be doing their hiring then. james24
l ok cheers for your help, can you recommend any language schools in Bangkok, still unsure about the difference between a language school and teaching agency
PeaceBlondie
Most language schools teach right on site to private students who come to the office where the school is located. Agencies are agents who place you in some big school.

Loaded
Schools are starting to sign up people for the new academic year that begins early May. You may find summer school work now, but the suggestion to try language schools until you find f-t work is good.
