Nine killed in road accident in Ayutthaya

AYUTTHAYA: -- Nine people returning home from a funeral in Lampang were killed Sunday evening when their station wagon was hit by a 18-wheel truck.

The accident happened at 5 pm on a road in Nakhon Luang district.

Police said the nine, including three children, were returning home from a funeral in Lam Pang. They dropped by at a temple in Ayutthay and their wagon were hit by the truck after they left the temple.

9 people in a station wagon? Very cramped, possibly illegal. Could the driver see out of the rear mirror?

Maybe illegal but compared to 3 or 4 (or more) on a motorcycle they would have been traveling in the lap of luxury "until the 18 wheeler hit them" that is.
