DeDanan
Buddhism and the WAVE (Tsunami) In Western Europe we have heard many different religious views on the “God” factor regarding the tsunami, we have not heard much from the Buddhist point of view, probably because the Buddhist community do not appear to have obvious leaders e.g. Pope or a slick “marketing” network that can get the message across the media. So is this Karma or what? Have a Happy… DeDanan
cdnvic
My own personal view never attaches acts of nature with kharma in the individual sense. In this case people died, suffered, and ceased to suffer due to something that is part of living on this planet. On the other hand where one polutes his surroundings an gets sick from it, that is kharma. You affect nature, it affects you. What was beautiful about the whole scene, (not dismissing the horror) was that as soon as people finished running away from the wave, they ran back to help the fallen, and many more followed from all over the world. A pity it takes such devastation to show such immense compassion. cv
