Looking for a resort/hotel that offers a country location with a bit of luxury and beautiful gardens / surroundings. "Anantara Royal Coco Palm Khao Lak suffered extensive damage from the tidal wave which devastated much of the coastal area of Phang Nga province on 26 December. If so, it's the place I stayed for just one night on a 5-day northern highlands tour back then. Just the one night, but I'll never forget seeing the dawn mists over the Mekong from my room terrace - even better than in that pic.............. You know I have this allergy, it's really strange, caughs, sneezing, itch, rash everytime someone quotes me something priced in US$ in Thailand.. Then I see " ++ " and I'm pretty much out for the count. Cheapest I found on the web in real money is still 3,600 baht until end of Feb, 2000 after that. I remember it was just under 2,500 a night (all inclusive, w/ABF) when I stayed there last June for three days. The cheaper rooms (mountain view) are best if you're facing west (The few rooms that face east to the mountain are still nice, but limited in scope. Garden rooms are nice if you're into gardens... sabaijai Posted January 24, 2005 Share Posted January 24, 2005 Can you actually see the casino from the resort? I've never stayed at the resort, though I once had lunch there when it was Le Meridien.
