The areas include some districts in Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom and Ayutthaya. Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban will be chief enforcer of the state of emergency measures. Police and soldiers as well as civil servants will assist Suthep in the operations to restore normality. After the announcement, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva went on TV live to explain the reasons behind the declaration of the state of emergency and give more details about the declaration. Abhisit said the government had to declare the state of emergency because the government had to rush solve the problems before the situation escalate. He said the government would do its best to avoid any loss to the people's life and he begged for public cooperation with the government to restore normality. hammered
Can he neforce this state of emergency? Samak couldn't. Looks like we will find out. That is the big question. Either he breaks em up or he goes. If he goes god only knows what comes next in terms of government. If he breaks em up with loads of injuries ditto the same question as he will go then too. flying
Something on TV now saying the Blues have captured a head of the Red's? Anyone get that? This is going right down the drain now isn't it? Also something about the PM's car No pictures though? Sounds like a play is being put on but the curtain is being left down.

Dario
Somnana! But he should have made the State of Emergency nationwide. Thai TV Channel 11 just says that the UDD is blocking Abhisit's car again. Just said that they damaged Abhisits' car and someone who protects Abhisit got injured by the UDD. Watch the news... What's worse >> they are hitting Abhisit's car and the army are just standing there and doing nothing! Is this a a State of Emergency ?? Looks like the UDD is out for a Civil War. Whenever Abhisit lifts the State of Emergency he m u s t use water canons right from the start whenever these colored shirt protester start a mob again. Otherwise it's back to where we are now. I got some rumor that the Army (or parts, or maybe just a single person or whatever as it is just a rumor) told to fix it fast or they (not clear if it means the royalist part or the thaksin part of the army) will stage a coup. wrecker
Samak was elected. Suthep and friends have taken the law into their own hands. Abhisit and Suthep are the army's henchmen, that says enough. However the problem will not go away by locking up a million people.

cmsally
I've just been told that Jatuporn (who went to check on Arisman) has been held too. Whether we are talking about held by blue shirts, army, border patrol or police heaven knows. Bit difficult to keep up! Various reports say Arisman taken to Naraesuan camp and Jatuporn at Vibhavadi or Don Meung or maybe they are in same place and news not keeping up. Looks to me as if army/blue shirts/govt are getting desperate.
asiawatcher
Seems the little too late scenario has entered. The Govt has NO control over the Police whatsoever. The Army can play strong arm - but has no ability to run the country. Stalemate - seems a civil war may be an answer. Batten down the hatches! Car of course is attacked again no pictures. Now they are saying there are spent shell casings all over the ground........Again no pictures. In this day & age not a single picture.??? Sad to say it is pretty obvious what is happening now.
