terryp
Already this morning there has been 3 breaking news alerts on the BBC back in the UK. Tourism is going to take a massive hit at this most crucial time for Thai workers. One thing is very clear the police, army & all the Thai security just are not up to the job, it is quite pathetic watching this. Thaksin should have been hit months ago, Abasit can’t just sit on the fence he must show true leadership. Many of these Reds are pure thugs , many times the women of the reds are telling them to stop Tonight is going to be test in Bangkok ...there will be more violence sadly
Lopburi99
There is no democracy in Thailand at the moment. It's mobocracy. And that aint good. At first I chuckled when I read the term "mobocracy" but now, sadly, I realize it is true and has been for some time now. Who is the latest mob (what color), where are they now disrupting, and what (or who) do they want? Chaos, chaos, and more chaos. Until disorder in Thailand can be controlled and unless Law and Order can be enforced, the chaos will just repeat in a loop for months or years to come. STOP THE MOBOCRACY!!! RegularReader
So happy DStation is back. That's democracy. Will you be able to say the same after a couple of months with Thaksin back at the helm ? I doubt it
Plus
Order to hunt for Prime Minister is not a revolution? The attack on a car that was supposed to be PM's vehicle is all over the news, playing again and again, in all its brutality. At this point if some reds get shot during the crackdown, no one is going to bat a lid, they've crossed the line.
ChiangMaiFun
Let's hope the authorities (yeah right) will use the photos to press charges of assault against these red sh*t cowards. what about the yellow sh*t cowards?

Koo82
Democracy is where the Majority rulesand 100,000 thousand red shirts is not the majority of Thai people I challenge anyone to pull such a number of people to come in one day to protest. Let's take for granted Khun Thaksin pays them to come, can anyone hire this amount of people? Khun Thaksin's money cannot be more than total money the ruling class have. Who paid students to protest in the past? Who paid other people to protest in the past? When people are pressed to a certain level, they will stand up to fight for their lives. This photo does not include the reds near the main stage.
RubbaJohnny
Please, no tanks on the streets... this looks like the beginning of the end There are tanks coming out from the military headquarter. Apisit's security guard has killed 3 red innocent red shirts with no arms. I was out there myself. But government hiding the truth.. they try to cut down the only people truth communication TV channel. This government is undemocracy. This is seroius whats your source eye witness tv etc Please red shirts are easy to impersonate but Absits body guards would be pretty hard to impersonate were they shot dead? phaethon
Where do I find D-TV, biased or not? D-Station is just a live feed from the main stage of the Reds' rally - bunch of monks stirring it at the moment. I have it on channel number 23, YMMV Is it just me or does the newsreader giving the updates on TOC remind anyone else of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars? moo9
It is so depressing, I saw the red shirts yesterday "live" in Pattaya. What a bunch of people! And polics? Red Shirts were controlling the traffic at the big intersections! I saw not a single policeman! THis country is going south now because of the inability to solve issues, because of the lack of knowledge and education and because of sick and mean politicians. Thaksin should be eliminated sooner but later.

This undemocracy gorvernment control all the medias to give out wrong infomation about red shirts. More red shirts fight for their right to live in democracy country but they are not accpepted. They are trying to shut down the only democracy TV station and leave their open like NBT and AS TV to attack red shirts. So many red shirts out there seek for their real elected government and real democracy and they are getting hurt my the military government with the guns shooting at them.. Please pass it all, becauase you will not know any of this story come out from regular Thai medias. This government has killed many people and they lied about it.... I'm out there to see with my own eyes and see how many innocent people asking this government and Apisit, and Prem ( Privy counciller) to resign.. keep it up penguin, you will be rich by the end of this, maybe thaksin will give you a place in his privy council...... hammered
From The Nation:Jatuporn calls red-shirts to descend on Bangkok to bring down Govt Jatuporn Promphan Sunday urged red-shirted protesters to rise up against the government and attack Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban as first sight. He said there was no longer rule of law so the red-shirted people would attack the government. He claimed that he had been arrested by the military to the Naresuan base in Prachuap Khiri Khan but red-shirted supporters in the base secured his release and sent him to the rally site at the Government House again. Jatuporn urged red-shirted protesters to travel to Bangkok or seize provincial halls. The Nation Time for the army to crush the red shirts now, they are no longer able to claim to be pro-democractic, they are just a mob intent on cause murder and mayhem now. The true colours of the reds are comming out now. When will you Yellow shirt idiots realise. The Elite might control all positons of ultimate power in the Army and the Police. BUT the solidiers and police are all sons of Thailand, mostly sons of the North and NorthEast and East..........they and their families are Thai, they love Thailand, they love Thaksin, they do not like the Elite too. Did you not see what happened in Bangladesh recently when the poor solidiers killed their fat, lazy, rich officers. The power of the Army is in the foot solidiers, if they refuse to kill other Thai's - you ain't got no power. When the Yellows protested the soldiers and police wanted to kick their butts, but the Elite in charge said no. Now the Elite want them to kick red butts, they are all refusing to. I doubt they are even being ordered to. The government called them out. They have to go. It remains to be seen if they do more than stand around although all bets are off if the reds move near the palace. The authorites dont like to kill people in Thailand as it tend sto lead to their leaders losing face and status. I would still think most people in the country though are just sick of it all. Still they will as per mormal just wait to see who comes out on top or what deal is done and then accept it. Something does have to be done to appease the poor of the country. They have legitimate demands.

OnNutter
OK can anyone tell me what exactly that means I can and can't do? I am going for pizza in a couple of hours down on Suk. 31 with 5 other people...does that mean I should stay at home? Is the MRT still working? Don't worry, I will be going to a Songkran party in Soi 4 later without fear of being shot, abducted etc. so go and get your pizza, they're not interested in you and your mates. I don't know about the MRT but the BTS is running as normal.
Travel2003
For the member that asked about the air port in Bangkok. Im about to travel tonight as well. I called the air port, and they said, DO NOT take a taxi, as most of them strongly support one of the sides, and you might end up stranded if the taxi driver suddenly decides to particpate in what happens in Bangkok. john b good
The whole thing is being staged IMHOHow can there not be a single picture?? You are right. It is being staged (orchestrated) by a megalomaniac despot by the name of Thaksin Shinawatra. Why the authorities continue to allow this fiend to phone in to his brainless cronies and foment hatred and anarchy is absolutely beyond me and the majority if my acquaintances. On this occasion the army and police would be well justified in decimating these hooligans. OK, some innocents would be victims, but these red shirts must be put down "like the mad dogs that they are"
