churchill
Fugitive ex-premiere Thaksin Shinawatra’s business and personal interests remained unaffected by the prospects of an extradition agreement between Thailand and Hong Kong, said Thaksin’s legal advisor Noppadol Pattama. Noppadol said there had yet to be signing of such an agreement and Hong Kong’s system did not allow extraditions concerned with political cases. Thaksin also had no plan to visit Hong Kong or China soon, said Noppadol. The convicted former prime minister’s investments were primarily located in Europe, America and Africa, according to Noppadol. http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/14...tments-are-safe -- Bangkok Post 16/05/
churchill
From the same article . "Responding to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva’s calls for Thaksin to return to face justice, Noppadol said the latter would return once the political crisis resolved and he was confident he would receive justice. Premiere Abhisit, who met Hong Kong's Chief Executive Donald Tsang on Friday, said the two sides were working on an agreement to help extradite Thaksin should he return to the territory again." Why are the no cases against previous PM's, Banharn for one, check his daughters involvement sales of land to the BOT?? Your convicted criminal stance is true, but in context of Thai Politics, it's laughable to be so passionate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ricardo
Why are the no cases against previous PM's, Banharn for one, check his daughters involvement sales of land to the BOT?? Good question, which should perhaps be addressed perhaps to the police or the current government, also to the previous governments as well ? Wonder if there is a word for a 'female eel' ? Corruption needs to be seen to result in court-cases, for Thailand to advance, even if the subjects of such cases are then seen to avoid their being prosecuted in court, as in the splendid example of a 'fighter for justice' and a 'believer in true democracy' who seems now curiously-unwilling to have his 'days in court'. Corruption of this kind might well be viewed as stealing from the people, like tax-dodging as well, since it reduces the resources available to the government for pork-barrel politics helping protect the poor from the effects of the economic crash. Artisi
Seems that Mr T is a non entity, he doesn't hold a Thai passport any more which seems to make him non Thai. To reclaim citizenship he will have to comply with the proceedure of reclaiming citizenship which could prove to be a very very long process if the powers that be consider it the best for the nation. Why is everyone so interested in the ramblings of just another foreigner.
