sbk
No officials, politicians involved in handout of rotten canned fish: probe panel The fact-finding panel of Social Development and Human Security Ministry has found that no government officials and politicians got involved in handing out rotten canned fish to flood victims in Phatthalung. Kanda Watcharaphai, deputy permanent secretary for the ministry who chairs the fact-finding panel, said no government budget was used to buy the canned fish for the handouts so no government officials and politicians were involved. She said the canned fish packages were donated by Wichen Sommart, a member of the Phatthalung People Association who did not know that the canned fish had expired. She quoted Wicheh as testifying that his association regularly donated the necessities to help flood victims in the province with good intention.
