Limbo
Some pictures of the chairman of Chiangrai United Football Club being interviewed at the Weah111 radiostation in Maechan last week. I would have loved to hear his story, but even if there wouldn't be mountainous obstacles inbetween Maechan and Chiang Rai town still my Thai wouldn't have been good enough to get the message, so ..... gerry1011
Last update about the Weah Radio project... - We have now found several young djs. All fit very well in the concept. - The website has improved a lot. Lots of info on it now. It is mostly in Thai but with some English too. - It is already possible to register on the website to be a member. - Another week or so and we will also be on air on internet, with webcams in the studio. We will also be able to make outdoor broadcasting live. - In about a week we will start to make games. See the prizes in the Game Zone. All of our djs, who are all coming from the hills do not believe that they would one day be part of such a project. Lots of happiness involved... but lots of work too. I look forward to have your comments once everybody can listen to Weah radio on internet.

At this time you can only listen on internet during the day. If you want to be member of the Weah fan club, register on the website. It is free The online games will be ready soon. Limbo
Chiang Rai united have just been sponsored by a radio station based in Mae Chan, I'm guessing it's Weah Radio? The contract was signed last evening ... Limbo The day after tomorrow (Jasn. 14) the meeting of the board of the Thai Football Association will take place in Bangkok. The dates of the games will be decided on and also some 'minor issues' are on the agenda (like for instance if Thoeng FC will be able to play under the name Chiang Rai FC in the second division this year). Chiang Mai tried to buy itself into the premier league by buying a premier league team and 'move' it to the north. It didn't work so far, so it looks as if Prajak Chiang Mai, with our old coach Khun Porn, our former goaly Pansa and player Naret will have to do the same as Chiangrai United did last season: To prove to be worthy! Photo: the gentlemen concerned are signing the contract.

gerry1011
Hello everyone. A bit of clarification... The sponsorship mentionned above (the money given to Chiangrai United) comes from private funds. It is not Weah radio that directly sponsors Chiangrai United. However, Weah Radio will help, among other things, to broadcast the Chiangrai United matches live on its website during this year (hoping not too many technical problems will come in between). To return the favor, Chiangrai United will add the Weah Radio logo on the players' uniforms. Chiangrai United will also support the Chiangrai Hills project in several ways (coaching, friendly matches, management advices, workshops, ...). If everything goes as planned this is a deal that should make everyone happy for this coming football season (or more...)
