Representatives from Kasikorn & Siam Commercial Bank will be on hand to discuss the possibilities of foreigners obtaining business & home loans. I have some friends on the island that were declined a loan from a local bank because their criteria for lending was based off the wife's income earned in Thailand (fitness instructor) The husband is a offshore commercial diver who brings home a pretty good chunk of change, but his income was not taken into account when processing the loan application. I want to know if this policy still stands or if it's a matter of what bank you go to and how they are feeling that day. but related Went to a bank in Central to get a joint account with the wife and they refused because she didn't have a WP... went to the same bank but a different branch and they said sure no problem.
