Kan Win
Hi Dan, Posted this a long time ago http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Waterfalls-K...ri-t115866.html For 4x4 go to Mae Khamin Waterfall in Kan Take Road 3199 out of Kan Town (just keep going straight up the main road), fill your tanks up with fuel before as the drive there is about 120-140 kms one way. The Map:- Go to Erawan Waterfall and just passed that there is a turn off to your left to Srinakharin Dam National Park. Only 42 kms thereafter on a very rough no tarmac road you will reach it. This was my second time there, but went there on that rough road. Near on 2 hours on that road to go 42 kms. I would not advise this road unless you have a 4x4 car as you have. The road:- . Photos taken 2005 so they could have tarred it already Follow the road all the way to the National Park. Pay your fees and enter. and welcome to Mae Khamin Waterfall Level Four. Camping site, shower and toilets are there. Also a Thai restaurant. Ask there if there are any off-road trails. Hope this helps you. Yours truly, Kan Win P.S. Kan Win
I am looking for some place to stay around Kanchanaburi where I can relax as well as do a little fishing. I do not want to join any fishing tours or the likes. Just want a place I can stay 1 night and fish during the night or day nearby without having to pay for fishing?Any ideas please let me know. Thanks Dan As for fishing instead of turning towards Erawan Water Falls and Srinakarin Dam, at that junction, there is a fork in the road, take the right hand fork and follow the sign to Si Sawat. Go up the hill 2 kms high and 4 kms down. Once you are on level ground look to your left for Great Lake Resort. Posted this July of this year http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Resorts-Kanc...ri-t281543.html If this has helped you, please come back and tell us. Yours truly, Kan Win P.S. Do not forget to bring with you the Mossie repellant and a camera or two
