Kathryn Posted February 13, 2003 Share Posted February 13, 2003 Can anyone advise me on what visa/residency requirements there are for a Brit planning to marry a local in Thailand please? Family locally keep telling me not to worry but a) I'm English and the whole explanation of legal requirements via Anglo/Thai phone calls is still a bit of a problem. It would be a 'mare to get back thinking I'm getting married and discover I need a document that's still in London! You can marry a Thai with just a Tourist visa, if you get a Non-Immigrant visa type "O" before you travel, it can be extended one year at the time.
